In short: Very quick course and good organisation. Well worth the trip, In full: Good flat course, weather was cold but very little breeze which helped. A good turn out and very well organized. Nice medal to go with my PB!! Date of review: December 16, 2007
In short: Good fast course on quiet roads(mainly) pb potential In full: This seemed a well organised race with a pleasant atmosphere. Although weather was blooming cold I managed a pb. The course was fast and flat and the competitive feel to it took me right out of my comfort zone. Impressed and will be back next year Date of review: December 16, 2007
In short: good race! In full: Second race on my comeback, I'm far from being in racing form but a race is a better workout than anything I'd do on my own. The course took it's toll again on mile 4, you can't really call it a hill but it doesn't half slow me down. All in all a prefectly good race, ticks all the boxes, I'd do it again. In short: Very well organised race In full: Despite the howling head wind between 4-5 miles and the 4 puddles stretching for 20m metres long and across the whole road a great race - managed a pb, and good grub in the club after which was welcoming Date of review: December 4, 2006
In short: A no-nonsense PB course In full: A great race to enter for a PB attempt. Cool weather, flat and fast course, nice organisation, well-marshalled, good facilities and......a P.B. 38m 35s in my case but the first time I've achieved under 40 m in 20 attempts! (Mind you, I lost nearly a stone to get my time down so it wasn't just the course!!!) Date of review: December 4, 2005
In short: Flat, fast and friendly In full: A great little 10K this one. The course is completely flat and this year there was hardly a breath of wind. The conditions (combined with some new shoes - thank you Athlete's Feet!) helped me to a new PB of 47:54.
The organisation was good with plenty of marshalls and one water stop. The start was spoiled slightly by some charmless abuse dished out by an 'ASBO Granny' who was in a rush to get to the local tip. No doubt to dump the body of her lodger or maybe to root through the skips looking for something nicer to wear and maybe a bit of old bone to boil up for lunch. But we were soon away from her.
I'll definitely do this race again - nice work! Date of review: December 4, 2005
In short: Enjoyed it and a PB too. In full: Although the course starts and finishes on an industrial estate, don't let it put you off. You only get to see it for the last mile. The rest is all country lanes. I'll be back. Date of review: December 5, 2004
