In short: down on last year
In full: this is my favourite race, this year though I garmin'd it at 8.5 miles, it seems like they were more interested in getting the first race through and clear to allow the afternoon race more time. not nearly as hard as previous years and not nearly as much fun

In short: The most enjoyable run you can do
In full: this run was the most enjoyable run i've ever done, loads of comraderie, a smile on most faces all the way around.
No real chance of a pb, unless youre an elite club runner, cos theres queues before all main hazards along tracks, but this means the mles fly by, as you're never really that out of breath!
In shrort, i loved this run!
also a good goody bag at the end!
only a technical t-shirt could have made the whole experience better for me!

In short: Best race I have ever done, for the very brave or the extremely daft (like me). Bog of Doom true experience, definitely doing this race next year.

In short: Great race - stupid parking
In full: the organisation and marshalling of the race itself were brilliant. Shame about the bright sparks who though parking lots of cars on a wet muddy field was a good idea. Sort this out next year! or have the races on the saturday and sunday rather than the same day

In short: Loved it!
In full: This is the first time I have done a Hellrunner & I loved it! I have done a number of different types of races over the last 2 years & this was my favourite! I hope to be back next year. I am also very grateful to the kind person(s) who saved me from becoming submersed in deep mud!

In short: Fun challenging event.
In full: It took us over 30 minutes to get into the car park, and we arrived at 8.30am. On our arrival somebody took up the duck boarding as their car was already stuck so we knew we were in for a tricky exit. No problems with toilets etc but delayed start left me already cold as I had got rid of my extra kit so I took myself off for a run.
First hill was hard (flat where I live) so had to slow down towards the top. Thoroughlly enjoyed the forest area through the bogs and hills, managed to slip over once then some guy cut me up so I was down again still soft landing.
I run marathons so had paced myself for more like a 12 miler so was disappointed to find it ended so early, felt cheated.
Where I was lots of bottle necks (I finished in 1.55) and we had a very long wait to get into the final bog, didnt help as the spectators were so close and I could at times have gone more to one side (I should have just soaked them).
When I finally took my turn through the bog my first two steps I got cramp in my calves so obviously the wait was too long so that spoilt my finish for me.
Maybe they could stagger the start more let people off at 2 min intervals or something. I did enjoy it though, it was fun and I've already signed up for Hell in the Middle.

In short: Really enjoy this run...
In full: Pesonally didn't have any problems with car parking but sounds like I was just lucky. Gutted to find out it was less than 9 miles and probably explains why I wasn't that knackered at the end. 2 or 3 miles more may have done it. Good quality t-shirt and bag. All in all this was a great run with plenty of mud and banter on the way round. Wouldn't hesitate to do it all again but get it back to the 11-12 miles as advertised........
