In short: epitomises all that is good (and bad) about our favourite pastime. In full: It was hot, sticky, hard work, but the marshalling, the organisation and friendliness of all concerned made what i felt was the most difficult run I had ever done to be one of the most enjoyable experiences. Back next year to beat the course (weather permitting) Date of review: July 9, 2013
In short: Great race, lovely area. Smashing goody bag and beer. In full: RAce was well organised, lovely route, challenging hills towards the end but so many lovely marshalls offering showers, jelly beans, drinks and oranges it didn't matter. Beer, home made cakes and tea'n'coffee at the end and a brass band. Very hot weather and no showers meant i didn't stay around as long as i would have liked. Date of review: July 9, 2013
In short: Scenic, varied, well organised, weather was challenging! In full: The route is very scenic and despite the heat I really did enjoy this. Very well organised and the marshalls were all helpful and in good spirits.
The biggest let-down for me was the fact that the band had packed up and left before I was finished and the free beer was long gone.
There was, however, plenty of delicious cake on offer and the medal and goodie bag are both impressive.
I would do this again, but not in that heat! Date of review: July 9, 2013
In short: Great day and challenging In full: My first 15 mile race and I had a great day. The locals where great and the hoses were greatly appreciated. Will be back next year. Date of review: July 9, 2013
