In short: Ok race with some issues
In full: Overall an OK race with a couple of points
One marshall allowed a car to pass when the runners were trying to move from left to right after the loops which was dangerous. All other did a good job with the traffic

Why have all those loops then have a 10/15 min walk from finish back to HQ, could these be closer especially as it was so cold?

In short: Excellent start to 2009
In full: Always enjoy this flat and fast run even with lack of sleep. Age is catching up with me though as I was lapped but hey-ho, it'll happen to them one day! Although traffic seems to get busier every year most are pretty patient and there also seemed to be more spectators/supporters. Always well organised and puts a smug smile on your face - thanks Cleethorpes AC.

In short: Marshalls Fantastic! But markers in miles not km
In full: Very flat but dodging traffic and pedestrians sometimes, Marshalls were great, why mile markers in a 10k race? Nice T shirt, would do this again. Smell of fish and chips near the finish cruel

In short: What a fast first mile...
In full: It was freezing foggy flat and calm. I knocked 40 seconds off my PB, having also scored a PB the previous year. Everyone started fast and just kept going.... We all just looked at each other, shook our heads and said "too fast" as we clocked the time at the first mile. I'll bet there were lots of PBs today.
You can tell it's a good race when the "hill" that caught you out last year seems to have disappeared!
The Coffee lady was ever so pleasant and friendly, and Fish & Chips in Cleethorpes are always superb.

In short: PB potential, good facilities
In full: Not the best of courses, but with over 300 runners the sea front would not be possible with many walkers dogs etc around. Turkey Trot on Boxing Day was a bit of a problem down there with 110 runners, having to duck and weave around promenaders!
Finish was better than last year. Somebody mentioned more markers in last mile, how many do you want, do you want it in 100 metre splits?
Well done to Roy and the gang, it all came good, nice facilites, showers, beer etc too:-)
