In short: Fab marshalls - lovely scenery -dreadful weather In full: Fab marshalls - they really encouraged all runners despite dreadful weather. Very well organised run - my first attempt at this distance. Shame about the t-shirt though - I would have preferred a medal instead. Date of review: February 3, 2009
In short: Good race despite the weather In full: We were unlucky with the weather-probably the worst morning for several months, especially the strong wind.
However, the race was as good as ever and the organisers had sorted a couple of "negatives" from previous years-parking near the race HQ and the no. of toilets.
Special thanks to the marshalls, especially those in the most exposed parts of the course. You did a great job and kept cheerful and supportive to us all, despite the cold and rain. Date of review: January 31, 2009
In short: A great race in terrible conditions In full: The torrential rain and driving wind reduced all the ratings. The marshalls were fantastic - all soaking wet and freezing cold, but very supportive. Date of review: January 29, 2009
In short: Enjoyable run. In full: I think it's more of a challenge to run in rough conditions and therefore more of an achievement. Not a day for the lightweight "fair-weather" runners. Date of review: January 26, 2009
In short: Weather was bad, but the route was good In full: Had it been a fine day this race would have definitley had PB best potential for anyone. The scenery was great but the weather was such that i kept my head down, and plodded on, and feeling under the weather so to speak on the day, i was glad to get to the end. I was 10 minutes off my normal pace, but still did it in 1.28.Yes i would do it again to see if i could get a PB. Date of review: January 26, 2009
In short: Well organised, but the start is frustrating. Having a single track with few overtaking opportunities right at the start made it nearly impossible for me to make my target time without pushing really hard between miles 2 to 8e Date of review: January 26, 2009
