In short: Liked the alps but too much traffic
In full: I enjoyed running the laps, a good way to break up 20 miles. However I didn't like running along rough country lanes with traffic only inches away.

In short: An enjoyable run, and due to laps it was an excellent way to gauge marathon pace in prep for FLM
In full: Really enjoyable run, friendly and encouraging marshalls and a pb! Great training run for FLM and found the laps as a great way to really judge my pace and how I was doing, particularly when you knew when the inclines were coming. Delighted with the time and has given me a real confidence boost building up to the big one.

Thanks to all the organisers

In short: Great organisation, shame about the traffic
In full: I ran this for the first time in 2007. The marshals wee out in force and provided sme good support, also putting on 2 water stations was a bonus for a 5 mile loop. Unfortunately though the traffic increased as the laps built up and I found it necessary to watch over my shoulder as I overtook some of the slower runners, and where the pavement was narow I had to run in the road to get by people. All in all though a nice undulating course, some fast bits some road and some quite parts. A nice alternative from the Sunday run.

In short: excellent marathon training run
In full: great run for marathon training with a variety of paces represented and most people doing long training runs, as opposed to racing. laps are a good basis for varying speed and playing with pace, instead of just doing the usual 20 mile training trudge. Also nice to go somewhere new for the long run instead of the same old routes around home. Very well marshalled. I was very surprised that the variable finish times meant that there was no real queue for showers at the end of the race. Recommended as a great training run for anyone doing a spring marathon.

In short: Shame the snow didn't turn up!
In full: Hands up who'd forgotten mother's day until they ran past the flower stall?
had good day out everyone very cheery.
Hard work mind but 20 miles is quite far, funny how the down hill bits disappear on the last lap. great for judging marathon pacing.

In short: A rock steady race that went like clockwork
In full: Perfect for pre-London albeit a bit dull. Served its purpose and well organised.

In short: Good to prepare for a marathon physically as well as mentally
In full: Multiple Laps may sound boring. But it definitely helps with your marathon pacing. You can check your time at regular intervals. It's slightly undulating, but not mind and body-breakingly so. Felt like wanting to finish after the third lap due to the faster club runners' sprint finish. Marshalls are very supportive and helpful, as they had to regulate part of the traffic (Roads weren't closed off for traffic). The whole race seems like a nicer and more sociable version of a long training run. Recommended in preparation for the FLM.
