In short: Perfect for a speedy off-road race In full: It is lovely to be off-road, but still be able to run fast. The trails this race is run on are hard, so I don't reckon you lose much time over tarmac races. The atmosphere and organisation are great, this is one to do time and again. Thanks to the organisers for another enjoyable race! Date of review: March 27, 2007

In short: First half marathon and loved it In full: This was my first half marathon and I was very nervous, I needn't have worried, the atmosphere , the supporters and the marshalls were all great, everything was well organised, the scenery was beautiful, and it was nice not running on roads. I will definately be doing this race again next year. Well done to the organizers, and thanks for a memorable 1st attempt. Think I've now got the bug! Date of review: March 27, 2007

In short: First time at this race - will not be the last. Loved it. In full: Great organisation, plenty of parking, toilets & drinks stations. Very enthusiastic marshalling & support. What more could you ask for? Very jealous of people who can run in this area all year round. Not a pb for me, but a favourite half, and I'll train harder for the hills next year. In short: Perfect race In full: First half marathon - better than expected. Good inclines to test you but enough down hills to keep you going. Amazing scenery to keep you occupied. Usually listen to music to keep me going, didn't listen to it once because the atmpsophere is so good and lots of supporters, marshalls and volunteers to keep you going. Definitely back next year. (One small problem - supporters at finish area not allowing enough room for runners to overtake). Date of review: March 26, 2007

In short: a great race In full: What a great warm up for the london flm. the long long and even longier downhill to the finish was fab. esp as i didn't know about it + i was doing a negative split. It was quite crowded for the first 5 miles anyway so you don't have much choice to do that a neg split anyway, unless you start at the front of the pack,or you are real good at barging, but hey, with electronic chips who needs/wants to do that anyway, i just realy enjoyed it, took it real slow at the first half and positivly flew like the wind nearly all downhill on the second half. sorry to the steward who i knocked over just past the finish line, i need to change my brakes methinks Date of review: March 25, 2007

In short: Excellent Race! In full: Second year running this. Organisation was as good as ever. Chris Hammersley and company do a fantastic job in making this a thoroughly enjoyable half marathon. So many volunteers at the drinks stations, I didn't know what cup to take!
Thanks to all involved. Date of review: March 25, 2007
