In short: Small & friendly, well run & a good stiff challenge
In full: Only downside a bit 'fumey'and traffic heavy but only at one point. Otherwise a really positive experience. I've only done London before and this is the polar opposite in terms of size, I spoke to more people here than at 3 FLMs together. I'll be back but save the PBs for a flat one. Perfectly possible to ferry across and back same day from London area but a sunny forecast will make a family weekend of it.

In short: Wet - very wet - the marshalls were fantastic
In full: One of the "old fashioned " events that has moved with the times and welcomes all standard of runners - might have been a record turn out this year - pity about the weather ! Previous years we have had the tar melting and sticking to our trainers !

Congratulations on the 50th IOW Marathon - but who designed the t/shirt ?

In short: Well-marshalled, friendly, scenic event. The hills were challenging, without being impossible. My main criticism is that the traffic was very heavy and distracting. Any chance of closing roads?

In short: As always - well organised - great marshalls especially in the weather !
In full: Quite a hilly course - once they start they just keep coming - weather was very wet this year - the 50th year !

In short: A marathon that makes you work a bit more
In full: A very tough race with lots of hills, even though the course was still open to traffic there was no problems, leaving your own drinks at water stations is a simple but fantastic idea that other marathons should look at, it was very wet but i prefer that than heatwave, enjoyed it and hope to do it again.

In short: Well organised - excellent marshalls
In full: A tough marathon - the weather was rough - cars with their headlights on at 12.00 noon !
Very friendly marshalls.
Only disappointment was the tee shirt - thought it would have been something special
as it was 50th year - so no sale to me.

In short: Big big hills, but they add to the challenge. Great organisation, great runners and great supporters (concidering the rain).
In full: My first marathon. I don't think I could have picked a harder one - but on the plus side, my next one should be easier!!! Yeah right.

In short: A tough old course with big hills and even bigger rain on the day
In full: This was my first marathon and what an introduction. The course is hilly but saves the longest climb to 22 miles. Marshalling was generally very good, friendly and encouraging, although seemed to thin out towards the end; at one point I took a wrong turn until a bloke in a bus shelter put me right! The heavy rain and strong wind on the day made it even tougher although equally added to the tremendous sense of achievement on finishing. Finally, the discounted ferry crossing was a good saving for anyone thinking of doing this in the future. Thanks to all at Ryde Harriers for organising.

In short: Back next year with hopefully some more runners from club.
In full: Although this was a tough run and weather was pretty atrocious still managed to run my second quickest marathon. Marshalls were superb and medal was superb.
