In short: The attitude of the organisers & marshalls stinks, and I'm disgusted with them. ir
In full: Ok, 6 things I'm really angry about, so lets start at the beginning;
1.
The website. My freind came with me to do this race, we applied at the same time, his number didn't come in the post, mine did - could I find a confirmation list for entry, or a phone number on the website for him to contact? No. Useless.
2.
Pig ignorant marshalls. Sign posts pointing to everything except registration, so not unreasonable of us to ask for directions to it. Not how the marshalls saw it though, who made their annoyance at having their insignificant gossip interrupted by two people who ruined their day by actually being interested in running this race.
3.
Down right rude at registration. "There's no record of you" they said to my freind "so you can't run". No apologies, no explanations, no consideration given to ways they could help him. Disgusting. He wasn't the only one with problems either, I saw papers being literally snatched out of peoples hands and a general contempt for everyone that had turned up.
4.
Ignorant marshalls out on the course. Every race I've been to so far has been enjoyable partly because of the encouragement given out by the Marshalls for every runner. Not so here, I saw it infront of me, it happened to me, and I could hear it going on behind. Loads of encouragement for Tattenhall Runners' own runners, and then Marshalls were literally turning away from any possible eye contact with anybody else. Disgacefully rude and awfully hostile for any beginners out there - who may be discouraged from ever racing again by such petulant behavoir.
5.
Officious marshalling on the finish line. In a taped off area, where I can only go one way, do I need some wannabe traffic warden pushing me over to the left hand side when doing so serves absolutely no purpose, as the tapes funnel you into single file anyway? Prat.
6.
Ripped off. It cost £8 to enter this race - it's a 5k, with traffic on the course, so the cost of holding the event can't be all that great - not unreasonable then to expect some small memento at the finish. Nothing. Cheap penny pinching bunch of frauds.

Overall, I wouldn't go near anything Tattenhall Runners do ever again in my life, they do not deserve me, my freind, nor anybody else, I've never met such a stuck up self important loathsome lot in my life. I'm absolutely disgusted. I'm a generally happy person, every race I've ever done I've finished feeling over the moon - here, they made me thoroughly miserable, and that really does take some doing.

In short: Fast, Fast, Fast!
In full: Flat PB course was the main attraction for me in advance of this race, but was also impressed by the organisation and the scenery.

In short: First ever race, used it as a warm up for the Great Manchester Run, expected a scenic trot on a cool summers evening. Got a soaking wet sprint and the wheels fell off at 4K, but carried on to finish in 21:22. Loved it and will be back next year.

In short: Well managed, flat left-hand course.
In full: Start is about a kilometre away from the finish so parking is a bit of a pain. Decent race though, I'd definitely do it again.

In short: Well-organised fast and friendly race, Shame about the rain
In full: Great fun for a Friday, fast, flat courrse, friendly marshalls in spite of bucketing rain. Good post-race pub (The Plough) who didn't mind me wringing out my vest in the gents.

In short: Fast fast fast!
In full: Despite the rain this was another fast race. The course is tops for PBing, yet the race is big and friendly enough for beginers.

Well done to the organisers. Thanks!

In short: Excellent sprint in the rain
In full: Well the heavens opened just on time for the start of this one. Been feeling ropey all week but still managed to pull out a pb on this flat fast course that is well marshalled. Highly recommended to all.
