In short: Great pre-marathon training race.
In full: Many people using this as a pre-marathon run so lots of support, friendliness and camaraderie on route. Ace marshalls too, thanks guys! Crowded at start but that's to be expected. Undulating route is nice as it makes the course more interesting. There are lot of uphills but lots of lovely downhills too. Takes its toll on the calves mind.

In short: My favourite pre-marathon run.
In full: A brilliant couse, friendly runners, great marshalls and a nice medal at the end of 21 good miles. Thank you to the marshalls in the very cold conditions.

In short: Brass Monkeys
In full: I would like to extend my thanks to the marshalls and volunteers who stuck out the freezing conditions with good humour and still managed to encourage the runners every time we passed them. There were regular drinks stations lined by eager drink dispensers right to the finish - well done everyone at Cranleigh. Solid event, maybe light on instruction, but unless you are in the lead who cares?

In short: The marshals did really well despite the freezing conditions. Course nice, pretty countryside . Course is definetly undulating!!! Nice medal at finish. Everyone very friendly. Fancied a massage after but it was so cold I went straight back to my car.

In short: Confusing, unfriendly and poorly organised
In full: Pre race instructions in the mail were rather commanding and unfriendly, but I'm sure they meant well. The online route maps weren't particularly good and there were none available in the race HQ for spectators/supporters.
Given that proceeds from refreshments were meant to go to charity it was beyond belief that there was no one to serve prior to the event. We ended up having to help ourselves. No queues for loos though.
The start was confusing and briefing couldn't be heard from the middle backwards. Only knew we'd started because the pack started moving.
Route was nice and mile markers obvious but through the town it wasn't obvious where we were meant to go. Marshalls could have given a bit more direction when runners were more spread out. But I did appreciate them being there in the bad weather.
Good value for the distance but definitely wouldn't do it again. The pressure of the time limit made it mentally tough and I thought it was poorly organised.

In short: Excellent
In full: Excellent race, nice atmosphere between the runners, spectators, locals & marshalls, brilliant value for money.
I really liked the course, thought it was quite quick if anything with some good quality road particularly on the first lap, thank you very much to the volunteers especially in that weather, one of the best "no nonsense" races I've ever done & one of the best value, perfect for London, I'll be back to do this again, excellent.

In short: Fast enough with some challenging hills
In full: This was my final pre-London marathon test and, despite the freezing temperature and falling snow, it was a good morning. The route is mostly on open roads and the local drivers were friendly enough. It takes a bit of willpower to keep going after 15 miles and complete the full 21 mile race. Well organised, friendly marshalls and a medal at the end. What more could you want from a local race?

In full: Thanks to the Marshall's today as very cold you did a great job I hope you have now warmed up. Great route and a new finish.
