In short: A challenging course on a warm day. The organisation and marshals are excellent. The crowd support is amazing. A china plate, tech t shirt and medal for finishing is very generous. A great race all round. Date of review: June 9, 2014
In short: difficult but rewarding race for a half marathon first timer In full: A lot of long steady hills with a killer hill at mile 11 but this doesn't detract from the experience. The people of stoke on Trent were very supportive and the water stops were great! Definitely doing it next year. Date of review: October 20, 2013
In short: Well organised race with a few challenges thrown in! In full: The start and finish in the town centre was special and the atmosphere here was truly fantastic. Also supporters dotted around most of the course (quite spaced out though) ensured it never seemed like a full on training run.
Very well organised and well marshalled across the whole 13 miles with plenty of drink stops if needed (I think extra were put on as it was pretty hot!!!!)
Generally a reasonable course but a couple of real tough, tough hills - Heartbreak hill especially was a killer! Also thanks to the chap who had a hose for a shower while running up it - it was so hot by this point this was truly welcomed! Date of review: September 6, 2013
In short: Very well organised as usual. Very good support along the route, sprinklers, hosepipes & waterguns very welcolme in the heat. Good quality technical t-shirt this year, goody bag full lof leaflets a waste of time. Date of review: June 12, 2013
In short: 1st ever half marathon In full: Very hilly but the crowd really help you get round especially the hose pipes & sprinklers! Heartbreak hill is tough, but can be done without walking. I will be back next year to beat my time. Date of review: June 11, 2013
