In short: Hilly, windy, friendly, lovely!
In full: It was a lovely race to test my progress toward my first marathon. It offered enough challenge to be worthwhile with a very rewarding downhill at the end. Negative splits no problem!

In short: I'd forgotten what a great race this is.
In full: First time I'd run this race for a few years and despite the windy conditions enjoyed the challenging course. Good mix of hills , undulations and fast sections. In fact I think I managed a 'negative split' which doesn't happen that often.

As always a very well organised race and I even managed to get out of the car park which was a bonus.

Big well done to Ackworth RR and especially Cyril Jones the race director for the past 9 years. As they say 'Nice one Cyril'

In short: Please don't stop this brilliant race !
In full: Great allround, would be such a shame if no-one took up the reigns. Smooth all round great organisation. Well done to all.

In short: Great organisation, Highly recommended.
In full: Well organised! Sufficient toilets, plenty of drink stops, friendly stewards, a challenging but very fair course, personal best = one very happy runner. Well done Ackworth RR if only all runs were so pleasurable!

In short: Better than the Brass Monkey!
In full: My 2nd successive Ackworth Half, and the race deserves it's Gold BARR status. Very windy this year which made it a challenge - other people have already mentioned all the nice touches that make this race a bit special. Congratulations to the organisers and thank you to all the marshalls and other helpers. I hope the race is staged in 2009.

In short: VERY WELL ORGANISED - VERY FRIENDLY
In full: I really enjoyed the Ackworth. This was my third half and the lovely countryside, friendly people (especially the local residents) and excellent organisation (clear mile markers, many marshalls, lucozade drinks and wetted sponges) made the run a pleasure. Thank you to all involved.
