In short: Good event, very well organised
In full: Large participation/crowd gives a good atmosphere for a 10K event. Stadium finish good in principal but not like running round a track due to the two sharp 90 degree bends forcing you to slow up and start sprinting again. Managed to run the 10K in under 45mins for the first time but a few of the moderate inclines were a struggle particulary the first coming off a 180degree bend. Starting bands and pen system worked very well (still witnessed a lot of people sneaking up the front who shouldn't have been there)

In short: Overall a good race, although a few too many sharp twists & turns for anything really fast
In full: Excellent crowds at the start and finish. Could do without a few of the hairpin bends!
A good 10k for beginners.

In short: loved its twists & turns
In full: Very well organised. Great atmosphere and nice twisty town route - so different to these boring long stretch country lane races. The stadium finish gave me an additional boost to pass couple of runners:)My most fun race this year.

In short: Slick, well organised & well supported. Twisty but quick course
In full: Great organisation. The pen starts worked really well & it was great to get a tech t-shirt that's actually useful at the finish. Course rather twisty through the city, but ended up with a pb regardless. Fitted this in during a friends/family visit down from Edinburgh & thought it was well worth the effort. Great support out on the course too - thanks to all!

In short: good atmosphere for a 10K
In full: Worth the effort and well organised. It is good to have such a large 10K field, it has a marathon / half marathon feel. I think it is a good race for new runners. The course seemed fairly fast apart from the slight congestion at the start and the hairpin bends. The section over the railway at 6 to 7 k was horrible, as was passing the footy stadium with 3k to go, but the mental torture is all part of the fun! Got a PB, my first sub 40min, so must be a good course, but apart from the city centre bit it is a bit bleak, sorry Derby! Nice t-shirt, run out of small when my other half finished, this is a shame (and she was nowhere near last). Well organised, will do again.

In short: Big fan of this race - and a PB to boot....
In full: Did this race last year and enjoyed it so was eager to do it again - it didn't disappoint. Weather was better than last time around. Really like the course, enjoy the citycentre section and was pleased to knock a minute of my 10k PB. Stadium finish is always great and although no medal - the Mizuno T-shirt is fantastic - same again next year please, organisers! cheers.

In short: Really enjoyable race! Lovely weather too!!
In full: Positives: The start of the race worked really well with pens avoiding bottle-necks early on.
We know this course fairly well and were prepared for the nasty sharp turns and inclines! At least you get to see the nice bits of Derby!
The weather this year was perfect which added to the wonderful atmosphere - lots of crowds at the start and around the pride park area. The drumming band were marvellous at a point where they were needed. Would like to see more entertainment if possible in the future?
Brilliant organisation....extra car parking this year helped. Lots of friendly marshalls! A big thank you!
Negatives: Massive bottle-neck at the finishing line...the marshalls were trying their best to move people into the funnel so not really sure what the problem was. STUPID people standing IN THE MIDDLE of the course when others were still finishing!!
No bananas!!!!!

Overall though we really enjoyed it!!!

In short: Excellent challenging race
In full: Only my second 10km but well worth the long trip to get there. Excellent support from the locals and challenging sections throughout. As a previous poster mentioned, the downhill, sharp left turn and then climb up the flyover could be demorilising to some. Especially liked the pen system as it helped me not to go off too fast then get demorlised as people passed. Only 1 small gripe, only just got a t-shirt, luckily Mizunos idea of large is actually quite small so the T-Shirt isnt too big on me and why no medal ? Overall, good value for money, excellent support and would recommend to newby runners
