In short: SPOILT BY THE WEATHER!!
In full: FAR TOO HOT BE BE RUNNING ANY REAL DISTANCE AT A GOOD PACE BUT THAT'S NOT THE ORGANISERS FAULT. REALLY NEED TO SORT OUT SOMETHING BETTER FOR AFTER THE RACE THOUGH. FAR TOO CRAMPED TRYING TO FIND YOUR FAMILY/SUPPORTERS IN SUCH A SMALL AREA. NOT SURE IF THEY COULD MAYBE USE MORE OF THE RACECOURSE TO EASE THE CONGESTION. OTHERWISE IT'S AFANTASTIC COURSE FOR A PB AND I'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK.

In short: Very hot!
In full: The start was well organised but everything was too far apart at the finish.

More of the city centre would be nice.

In short: The race route was pretty dull when you think of the potential of Edinburgh. we were directed out of the city as fast as possible. We might as well have been running in sheerness or something
In full: It was clear they needed to tag on a few hundred meters here and there and rather than use imagination the make you run up a little hill for 400 meters then straight back down to then continue along the coast. There also seemed to be a huge gap in fuel stations at around the 17 to 20 mile mark, right when people need it.

Locals were the only saviour in the heat with the kids shooting welcome water pistols and hoses at you which was great fun for all, nothing there of note from the officials to cool you down. There was a shower of some kind but only had a tiny dribble of water going through.

Plenty of cheering at the end which was a nice experience but after crossing the finish line the race was a complete disaster.

The 'beer tent' (15 min walk) was a small caravan with a queue of 60+ people, better to not have anything at all rather than tease people with the prospect of a nice cool one.

The transportation was diabolical back to the city. A 25 min walk to get to the bus, then a 30 min queue to get on the bus, which then sat in traffic for 30 mins plus! I think this, above all tainted the race for many people.

Oh and don't bother with hiring a GPS tracker for your sponsors to keep a track of you, it didn't work. To be fair I was refunded but disappointed.

In short: Excellent race, quick, would have been quicker if it wasn't so hot. Only down side was walking 25 mins to the bus to take us back to the city- stupid

In short: Nice way to fritter away a few hours.
In full: Nice run. Personally loved the heat, though I understand the agony of others. Other runners were mostly good about being in an appropriate start pen, and mostly good about not stopping dead right in front of me in the narrow bits. (A pep talk on etiquette might be appropriate.) Location of baggage and subsequent buses back to town was a little rough. Water and lucozade were handled well this year. Volunteers were great! All in all, a good event.

In short: Bad-luck but not great organization
In full: For the second year in a row, Edinburgh was cursed with a horribly hot day. A change from last year is that they did have enough water, but it was really far apart. Also, there are relatively few sponsors which meant that there was ONLY water and a bit of lucozade on the course. When I ran paris, there were loads of bananas, oranges and sugar cubes which I realized were a nice addition. The course is flat, but the heat made it really unbearable and given how gorgeous Edinburgh is, the race really isn't anything to write home about. Also, at the end of the race it was about a 15 min walk to get to the field where they had bags and things - and then there was a massive line to get through the gate. After a marathon - not want you want to be facing. Wouldn't do this race again.
