In short: My legs hurt!
In full: This course doesn't mess around. You go straight up the hills and then you go down them again. Repeat for 26 miles. Refreshments were great but I could have done with another water station out at the estuary - I will carry a bottle and refill it next time.

In short: Still as hard as it was 20 years ago!
In full: We hadn't done a marathon for 20 years but did this to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Trained properly and didn't suffer too much on the day! Everyone knows it's a real tough event so lots of money donated. Thank you sponsors, all the organisers and the weather! - a great day.

In short: lovely and varied terrain and views, couldn't ask for better!
In full: Of course it's hilly and tough, that was expected. But no hills were too steep to walk up, and even the dreaded Seven Sisters near the end didn't turn out to be so bad. Too beautiful to hate. If I'd trained more than a 15 mile LSR, my legs might not have ached for most of the way. Even so, the friendly cheering marshalls and the wonderful generously laden checkpoints helped to keep me going on my first even marathon. Excellent signposting too.

In short: What a race - fantastic!
In full: Firm but fair - beautiful scenery, tough hills, great organisation and great support from the marshalls and spectators along the way. Was warned it got tough at 19 miles onwards but nobody mentioned there is hardly an inch of flat before then! Absolutely loved it - really pleased with my time - great personal challenge - makes me wonder why I ever wanted to do a road marathon - definitely do it again.

In short: Simply the best!
In full: Done it before and will do it again. This year I got the training, fuelling, and pace spot on and got a P.B as a result. Except for a few inconsiderate walkers blocking narrow tracks it was perfect.

In short:
In full: I wondered where all the walkers were - now I know, they started an unofficial hour before me ! My second marathon walk. Having completed the Trailwalker, the BH terrain is a lot harder - sooo many hills ! A big thank you to the organisers for the smooth running of this event. A big thank you to the volunteers for their sense of humour, encouragement and friendliness. There was ample refreshments at all the check points. Thank you so much.
