In short: A very well organised 3-lap marathon through the mean streets (and surround countryside) of Luton!
In full: This was my first marathon and on the day I really enjoyed it. The organisation was excellent and, although not traffic free, there were never any problems on the course.
Running my first marathon was much easier than I thought it would be! It wasn't a flat course but I'd built hills into my training and there weren't any bad ones. The weather was a bit windy but the course was sheltered almost all the way round.
On the day suprisingly easy and it was just all the training building up to the day which was tough!

In short: Good atmosphere, well organised but a bit windy!
In full: This is my second trip to Luton, it well organised with agood atmosphere. Having said that the course is a bit awkward with afew too many turns and underpasses. Like other smaller races it uses plastic cups and not bottles hardly ideal.

In short: Luton is prettier than I remember it
In full: The pleasant off-road sections and the fleeting views of the hills out in the countryside made the long drags on the busy road sections easier to put up with. The support from bystanders really helped, as did the encouragement at the beginning of each lap - stopped me DNF-ing at least twice! Finally and most suprisingly the traffic was really well-behaved - quite a contrast with the miserable Sunday shoppers at some races I could mention!

In short: Definately Undulating!!
In full: A well organised event from the organised parking, plenty of water stations, good marshalls & well signed route,to the nice medal and tee shirt.I found the inclines and the wind put paid to any hopes of a P.B.The adage that a strong wind adds 10% to your time is correct so i am well pleased with my time.Still cant get past the wall though without losing all semblance of running style!!! Probably wouldn`t do this again as it is a long way from home for me and december is not the best month for the weather!

In short: Enjoyed this last year, and enjoyed even more this year. Well organised, nice medal, and friendly marshalls. Wind ruined chances of a pb, but will definitely be back

In short: My first marathon, and I absolutely loved it.
In full: You either like the fact it's 3 laps or you don't. For me I found it helped with pacing and make it easier to break the race up mentaly. Hills weren't as bad as I was expecting - it is definitely undulating rather than hilly. An interesting and variable course with a nice mix of urban and rural scenary. Excellent organisation and marshalling.

In short: Well organised, supportive marshalls and the wind provided a real challenge especially on the third lap.
In full: Enjoyed the challenge of the course. A well thought out course and quite scenic in places.

I really enjoyed the three laps - it certainly got me through the hilliest section through miles 20 - 23 into the teeth of the gale, because I knew that 23 - 26 miles was a downhill section without wind interference.

The relay added a bit of atmosphere to the event. It was a good motivating factor to overtake relay runners who had overtaken me at the start of their leg.

I'd rate it as an average marathon which doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't!

Well done to all those who organised the event.
