In short: A great run, excellent organisation, superb support.
In full: The Ridgeway was exceptionally challenging this year due to the weather. Organisation as usual was excellent and the check point support, food and encouragement outstanding. Many thanks to the TRA and supporting running clubs. Unforgettable.

In short: Fantastic ultra
In full: Puts all other comments about volunteers into perspective when you have checkpoints manned, and freindly by teams from local running clubs, mostly overnight and in some very exposed loactions - great for beginners a s long as you've done a marathon before. MANY THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED

In short: A great ultra,
In full: If you have run a marathon of two and maybe a road ultra or two then this is the next step up. Great aid stations, plenty of pre race information. A definate buzz to finish, needs a bit of work training wise but worth the effort

In short: Great well way marked route and superb organisation
In full: This year was really a race of two halves. The first half was unbelievably hot and I very nearly gave up at Goring. After some good food and lots to drink I felt ready again so carried on for the second half. This was during the night and, although navigation was easy, the terrain was very awkward especially on sore and blistered feet. Welll done everyone who completed the event, and especially to Anthony, the TRA and all the marshals/CP people who made this event a success.

In short: An incredible event, unforgettable
In full: Thankyou to Anthony Taylor and the TRA for a great event. It's a hard run but glorious scenery and superb support from organisers and clubs running the extremely well provisioned check points.

In short: Great event if you are prepared for it
In full: This was my second time on the race and I would do it again. It is extremely tough, this year especially so with the high temperatures on Saturday. For first-timers I recommend a recce (of at least the first half), the Harvey's map, and a realistic schedule to aim for. The support is great and Anthony's organisation makes everything run very smoothly (apart from my legs at 60 miles!!). The parties were more numerous this year and seeing 12 grown men dressed as vikings 6 kilometres from any habitation made me wonder if I was hallucinating! Well done to Matt on the win - a superb effort.

In short: Demading overnight (for most) Ultra
In full: This was the first time beyond 50 miles, so was very apprehensive. The hot weather took its toll on many, and I get the impression that there were quite a few retirees. I was almost one of them. Approaching half way I was feeling awful, but some rehydration salts and food set me right. Checkpoints were always wonderfully friendly and supportive (as were the others supporting other runners - I was unsupported) The night stage navigation was pretty easy, but I think having a clear night made a big difference and also running it 'right to left' were the main factors as the 1st third was wooded and involved much more tricky twists and turns etc. ORganisation was 1st class, so well done to all concerned...only minor gripe was that the momento was inadequate when compared against the achievement of the event and the entry fee. (I KNOW you dont run for 'stuff' but a t-shirt or badge...something as well as the little medal I felt would have been nice ive been to less expensive ultras and felt better 'value'....really dont want to sound ungrateful though!) Take a 2nd pair of shoes...I did...as a change at half-way helps sooo much! LOTS of food at checkpoints...you only need take basic things for yourself, would also recommend taking rehdration salts with you...even if its not too hot, but especially if it is!

In short: A very testing event!
In full: A good event. Study of the maps is recommended in case of hickups along the way. Good idea to keep checking every once in a while. Support was good but some points a bit far appart for me but there was a friendly face at each stop. The halfway stop at Goring was very good - Thanks for the food and the cups of tea.
Most difficult part was the first 40 miles, very hilly and would be easy to get lost if it was ran the other way round in the night.
The heat is also a factor, it can either make or spoil your day depending so a hat is a must.
Also found running through the 'Rave party' up in the hills in the middle of nowhere while it was still in full swing during early hour highly amusing. I was even offered a beer!
Nice finish area and worth a look around in daylight hours. Interesting stone circle features.
Well done to all that took part and all the helpers. I'll be back next year to beat the blisters. Which reminds me - Take a spare set of trainers next time.

In short: A good long trail run with an easy to follow route
In full: This is a well orginized event and its down hill, North to South, but challenging. Its handy to have a map for this one but the route is well marked. the 2 course meal at Goring was very welcome, a good start to the second half and the climb back onto the ridge. I will be back next year but I won't be a threat to Sam, Who came first.
