In short: My first marathon and really enjoyed it (much more than I expected to). It was hard and very hilly from mile 16 - 20 but very well organised and a beautiful area to run in - even if it did pour with rain.

In short: Inspiring
In full: Thanks to the marshalls, and the TA lads - you're all obviously used to the rain- all smiles despite the grim weather! Tough course, but the reward is a quick last 6 miles. Running through Dores was the highlight, great support.

In short: Fantastic place for my first marathon- want to do another one soon!
In full: I guess the people who organise the Loch Ness Marathon are aware how remote the city of Inverness is and how it can't be treated like a day trip. To compensate for this, they organise a fantastic event and make it worth runners' efforts in getting up there and staying overnight. I ran in the marathon and my wife did the 10K. We were both first-timers at the event and it left a great impression on us- will definately be back in the highlands again next year!

In short: My first marathon - definitely not my last!
In full: A fantastic race with great camaraderie between runners. Many thanks to all the volunteers and supporters who braved the weather. It's a shame that the mist hid some of the scenery - I drove the course the day after and the views are stunning. Still, gives me an excuse to come back next year.

Great T-shirt as well and, unlike other races I've done, available in a generous XL size (for us 'chunky' runners).

My only gripe - can we have a pee break on the bus next year?

In short: A Classic race
In full: I don't know if it was the fact it was a Marathon or it was Loch Ness but together this was more special than I could of ever imagined. The togetherness of the runners and the effort put in by everyone was fantastic. Maybe not next year but definately do it again. I'd recommend this for anyone

In short: First marathon and the best race I have ever done!
In full: This was my first marathon and I really enjoyed it - it was the most-well organised race I have ever done! Couldn't do anything about the weather, but the support along the way from all those guys out in the rain (especially the soaking wee TA boys!)and the organisation at the end was fantastic. I am still on a high, would highly recommend it and will definitely do it again - next time I want to see the scenery as well!

In short: Great Race, Undulating means hilly!
In full: This was my third and best marathon. Not only as I got under 4 hours for the first time but because it was so well organised and everybody could not do enough. Great organisation - next year let me see Urquart Castle.
Well done to all the volunteers and marshals you guys did a great job in terrible conditions

In short: Undulating, wet and very rewarding
In full: Probably not the best choice for my first time but any dampener put on my time by the undulations and heavy rain should mean I can go much faster when I do an 'easier' one!

Book your accomodation well in advance though - many of the runners are travelling and staying over.

In short: 'Undulating', but it keeps you coming back for more
In full: This was my second Loch Ness Marathon after originally running it in 2003. I'd completely forgotten how many undulations there are in the first few miles. A challenging run, and I'd agree with a previous commentator that I love it and hate it in equal measure because of thta. Not much the organisers can do about the weather, but in most over respects they do enough in my book to justify the very positive feedback they receive each year. A number of small gripes (none of which individually or combined would put me off doing it again) - not enough portaloos at the start; too many bikers on the route; too many tourists on the pavement down by the river. Too many positive aspects to list. Keep up the good work and don't rest on your laurels!!
