In short: Top Notch
In full: Excellent set up, fab views, top marshalls, hilly testing course. Good goody bags and proper fitting long sleeve top. Easy parking. 100% well organised event. The 10 mile warm up made it harder!

In short: Enjoyable run in the countryside, but beware the hills
In full: Perfect weather for a run and lovely location and scenery. Plenty of hills, 3 of which pretty steep - most people seemed to walk them. Liked the sense of humour though in giving them names, the last 'For Fawkes Sake' at around 8 miles aptly named for this point in the race.

In short: Tough hilly race set in great scenery and perfectly organised
In full: One of my favourite races, the course is a real toughie with around 1300ft of climbing including at 2-3 very steep hills which are real leg burners. The atmosphere is possibly the best in any race I have ever run, the marshalls are all top notch and very helpful and the organisation is second to none. There's also a fun aspect to this race with the bloke dressed as guy fawkes starting the race on his pushbike every year. Goody bag at the end is always full of loads of chocolate and sweets which is most welcome and you get a long sleeved T shirt as well. Highly recommended

In short: Hills, rain, flooding, rain and hills,... and hills
In full: This was my first outing over the 10k mark and my first race not on the flat. What a pleasant surprise the hills and distance were. The rain coming down like a waterfall capped it all off.

The Birstwith brute (when you see a name for the hill you're about to tackle you know you're in trouble) was very hard going, but equally rewarding.

Great stuff from some drowned looking marshalls!

And did I mention the hills?

In short: Hills!
In full: Loved this race last year and brought a load of my clubmates to do it this year. Despite the weather, we all thoroughly enjoyed the race. The hills are hell, but you do get the fantastic downhills to sort of compensate. Thank you so much to the marshalls for standing out in the rain to look after us and cheer us on.
Fingers crossed for good weather next year as I didn't enjoy standing at the start wringing out the sleeves on my top!

In short: An excellent race
In full: Brilliantly organised, brilliantly marshalled. Every year, this race just gets better and better. Unbelievably generous goody bag. A true "feel good" race that I'd encourage anybdoy to enter.

In short: Friends had told me I should do this race - this year I did and it was fantastic! How the marshals kept so cheerful in the weather I don't know - thanks to you all!
