In short: Superb organisation, wonderful Marshalls, great atmosphere, lots of mud and great value.
In full: A faultless race and one to put in your diary if you haven't done it. It is deserving of all the praise given it over the years and should continue to be a very successful event in the future. I first ran it when it was known as the 'Beagle Bash' and approx. 10 miles. I've run it several times since and it never fails in any aspect to please. This is an event that many other race organisers would do well to use as a 'role model' for organisation.

The course always changes, but always has the first 1 mile on the road and the last mile on roads and paths. In between: mostly off-road, flat and very muddy and wet in places. Quite energy-sapping, but like others have said, it brings a smile to your face and makes you glow all over.

The facilities at the School are superb. Changing rooms, showers and plenty of bogs. Nice touch to have water hoses at the end to rinse off the mud and a recycling area for trainers, etc.

Nice range of prizes and good non-technical long-sleeved t-shirt and 'goody' bag. More than just a bag of leaflets, as in some bags at other events.

Just a couple of small suggestions: perhaps trophies or something similar instead of vouchers(very limited use) for winners prizes and more of a range of refreshments in the sports hall for post-run recovery. Only minor things, not a complaint or a moan.

Many thanks to all those involved in the organisation, the Marshalls and other helpers for putting on another great race. Long may it continue.

In short: A great experience!
In full: Loved it! Great cameraderie as you plough through the mud and water. Marshalls were superb, and local folk turn out en route to cheer you on. If only all events were like this.

In short: What is not to like apart from the mud, ditches, mud, steep up hill sections, mud, long slippery down hill section and the special shinny smelly mud? Seriously this is what running is all about great crowd, great place, great race. Why oh why more

Seriously this is what running is all about great crowd, great place, great race. Why oh why more people don’t race off road is beyond me! Special mention to all the marshals without which the race couldn’t go ahead…..especially the lass around mile five who most definitely didn’t fall ar*e first into the brown stuff while getting ready to clap as I passed. You see I told you I could keep a secret….dooh! See you again next year

In short: Simply the best!
In full: Once again the Sodbury Slog shows everyone exactly how a race should be organised, and it's easy to run out of superlatives when rating it.

Everything was spot-on, right from the moment you enter the town of Chipping Sodbury with signs to the race HQ and parking.

Pre-race went like clockwork, no delays collecting race number and chip, well-manned baggage area and plentiful loos. Warm-up dancing 'Gangnum style' and of course the reading of the last post before the run is
a highlight of the year.

I thought it was just my appalling lack of fitness catching up with me but I have been informed that yes, it was in fact muddier than usual this year. A lot of fun though and a great training exercise.

We were blessed with glorious weather this year which meant I could take in the gorgeous views of the countryside, not something I always manage to do.

Very friendly runners and some friendly and encouraging spectators, unusual for an off-road event. Marshals ezxcellent as always, handing out drinks and jelly beans en route. And Hi to the nice young lady from Cardiff I was chatting to on the way back to the car!

Fantastic value for money meant an excellent goodie bag at the end including a lovely long-sleeved t-shirt, plus I bought a technical one for training!

It really doesn't get better than this and as long as nothing changes will be a constant on my race calendar. See you next year.
