In short: What a blast!
In full: Well that's the first time I've ever used my face to wipe my hands on so I could grab some very welcome jelly babies. Absolutely filthy fun in the cleanest sense, like being a kid again. Excellent marshalls, brilliant organization. 2 minute silence very moving. Met some lovely runners. Will definitely be back!!!

In short: Mud, Flatish, damp, not much road, excellent organisation and atmosphere
In full: I'm from an off road, hashing, hilly sorta background and not raced many times previously. I found this race great in many ways. The 2 minutes silence before, the nice gentle road section at the start, the soft ground around most of the run was better for the joints than tarmac. The muddy bits were good although quite deep at times (I'm only short!!). Only downside was the long wait for a muddy sheep dip thing - waiting around for 10-15 mins during the middle of a run isn't great as you have to warm up again and I guess there is more risk of pulling omething or cramp ?
Overall thoroughly enjoyed the day which is testiment to the organisers, marshalls and fellow competitors who were all enjoying the event for what it is - Fun !!

In short: Not so much a race as an annual event
In full: Forget all that PB nonsense this is just something to take part in and enjoy. It is superbly organized and marshaled and the entrants generally run it in the spirit in which it should be run. To those who try and run round all the muddy bits - why do you enter?

In short: Mud, course, marshalls, organisation & atmosphere all brillant. The 2 minute silence and the playing of the last post on Remembrance day was a definite plus as well.

In short: What a (mud) lark!
In full: Well done to the organisers for taking the time to find a new course, it would have been so sad to let this fantastic race fold.

One of the best team of marshalls you'll find. Cheery, encouraging and always happy to help pull runners out of the squishiest of muddy bits.

The sheep dip ditch was brilliant - that just has to stay. I thought the new course was better than the old one - didn't seem to tough.

If you want to concentrate on staying clean and getting a good time then it's not the race for you. If you want to have a good time and find mud and grit in places you didn't kno you had then come along and wallow!

In short: My favourite - 4th consecutive year and not the last. A shining example of what a race should be.
In full: What's not to like? Mud, water, a bit of running, great spirit and banter between all the competitors, superb organisation and unbeatable value. A brilliant race AND a long-sleeved t-shirt AND a goody bag mainly composed of edible things? Bargain. I'll be back for my number 5 next year.

In short: Well done Bitton on getting a course sorted when we could not use the common.
In full: I think that Bitton Road Runners have done a fantastic job on sorting out a route that avoided the common - but it does need a bit more work doing on it. I was also hanging around for about 20 minutes to get through one of the (very short) obstacles. The weather yesterday was not too bad and we chatted and did Mexican waves - but if it had been wet and windy it would have been a different story for those people out there in running vests and shorts. We could have been talking hyperthermia. Overall I thought the route was easier than usual, it just took longer as we hung around more. Another gripe is that we say what size T shirt we want when we book, but if you are a slow runner the choice is large or ..... large! As the event was sold out and we had said what size we want, I can't really see why we can't have the size written on our numbers as they do at other races, so we get what we ordered. Sorry if this seems like a moan - it really was a great day out, great goody bag and Gordon and team did a great job, thanks.
