In short: Nice and flat but not much atmosphere on the run.
In full: Pre race, atmosphere was good. Free drinks and warm up. Toilets queues were ridiculous but I went before the race anyway.
Too many people being overly ambitious with start time so a bit crowded at the start but soon thinned out.
Marshalls and local support was really poor. Only two marshalls made a feeble attempt at a clap and an encouraging comment. Those of us at the back need all the help we can get! Some runner's fmaily at the top of the last hill before the finish line were brilliant and helped me limp on with my injury. Thank you who ever you were!
Will be back next year but improvements should be made especially if they're thinking of upping it to 10,000.
Obvious bins for chips - didn't see it and went home with it attached still.
Goody bag? Steep entry fee and cheapo t shirt. Horrible cheap cotton one - Epilepsy Action do lovely thick cotton tshirts that don't bring you out in hives, surely a few pence more for a decent shirt.
Cars on the road by Yorkshire TV weren't such a good idea. I see they closed the road when the elites were coming back down, but not before when the thousands were running up it, with cars squeezing past at a not particularly slow speed.
Next time Nell feels too ill to come along, let me know; she lives in my village, I'll go and drag her along.
Has great potential but needs to re-evaluate a few thing so it doesn't get too big for it's boots.

In short: Uninspiring
In full: Too crowded just before the end in the narrow coned off section, hence a fair bit of barging to get by slower runners for a sprint finish. This race has got too big.

In short: Good PB Potential
In full: Although this race is good for a PB as it has grown the organisation has suffered. The non-club marshalls i.e. bouncers were rude, very aggressive and totally unhelpful. At one point they threatened my wife with the police for crossing between barriers, this is meant to be a run for a charity it is not a demonstration where people need to be corralled and controlled.

In short: Loved the PB and the text time, a few negatives too- but didn't spoil what was a good racee
In full: I took a good few minutes off my pb so I'm overall very pleased I did this race. It was busy and I started near the back (due to the portaloo situation) but there was enough room that with a bit of weaving I managed to find my stride.

Course was ok, main attraction is the PB potential rather than the scenery.

Liked the T-shirt and the drinks at the end. It was a bit of a pain trying to take my chip off, find place to put my chip while balancing my water and lucozade and t-shirt in my hands (trying not to get the t-shirt wet) in the wind and rain. This issue re the chip bins and the toilets at the start would be the two things I would change.

My favourite thing was the text at the end, not only did I get confirmation of my time but my partner had seen my time online. I would do this race again.

In short: I'll be back next year.
In full: PB so a good day for me. Bitter first thing, but soon warmed up once the race kicked off. Well organised and in aid of a great charity. Plenty of free lucazade to be had too!

In short: A well organised charity run. The entry fee was very steep and the atmosphere not as carnival like as some big runs. Good course though and well organised.

In short: Well organised again
In full: It's clearly a tried and tested formula - my 5th Abbey Dash and well organised as ever. No problem with starting pens if you get there early and local knowledge saved me from the toilet queues! Thanks to all involved with this race for another great event. See you next year for No. 6.

In short: Fast and flat but getting overcrowded...
In full: ...and where were the XL t-shirts after the hour mark? Getting a bit crowded for me but first timers and speed merchants will love it, just find somewhere to errr, "relieve" yourself beforehand!

In short: Super fast, brilliantly organised race
In full: Superbly organised considering the size of the field. Great support by crowds and marshalls and a super fast PB course...shame about the wind!
