In short: Great 2nd half.
In full: I did this half with some people from work, our boss talked us into it saying it was flat, (he lied!)
The race was very well organised and everyone was very very friendly. i really enjoyed it and hope to be able to do it again.
well done and thank you to everyone who organised and marshalled.

In short: Excellent organisation, quality medal and t-shirt, challenging undulations but certainly do-able for the beginner!
In full: The Bay being generally hilly was a worry for me as a beginner but the hills whilst mildly steeper than Exeter's Great West Run were certainly do-able. Great atmosphere, the marshalls were all very encouraging which helps, great quality TShirt and medal in the goody bag. There were great sponsorship stands from the Runner's Guide. Would definitely recommend this half marathon and would certainly like to return.

In short: bigger than your usual club race, but not a rip-off like a big city race
In full: I think many of the big city races (Bristol, are you listening?) could learn a lot from this one. For a start, enthsuiastic marshals all along the route, more water stations than a British summer strictly requires, a decent goody bag, an original medal design and a quality T-shirt (not another heavy cotton job that just sits in the bottom of your drawer). And free fruit at the end! I thought the crowds were good given this is a club race rather a corporate sponsored race. And it was really good to see the event being helped with road closures, the support of the council and teh local police. A good mixture of club and charity runners. Yes, it's undulating, but it's Devon. There were still PBs to be had here, though.

In short: Nice race, challenging but not suicidal
In full: Well organised, challenging race but do-able. Nice atmosphere but not so many spectators this year in Torquay end. Great Goody bag, nice t-shirt and medal. Could have done with a sponge station but apart from that. Great race.

In short: Not really a seaside run, you're only running by the sea for about 2 of the miles
In full: My 3rd half marathon and was unable to get a pb, but that could of been me. For those who said it's flatter than taunton and exeter, i'm not so sure, the ascents were a pain. There was not distance markers every mile and no sponging stations atall. Crappy medal. My personal highlight was beating a pensioner in the final straight.

In short: Very enjoyable seaside run
In full: First time for me, and would do it again, only the 280 mile journey might make me think again! I thought the regular water stops was a real winner, excellent medal and t shirt as well! thank you to all involved

In short: A great race & very well organised!
In full: The new route was a welcome addition to this event. It was well organised with very helpful & enthusiastic marshals. The t-shirt & medal in the goody bag were of the highest quality that I have received at a race to date, (my t-shirt from 2 years ago is still going strong!).
The entry fee is realistic, affordable and great value compared to other halfs.
Minor complaints (but nothing really) trying to run whilst drinking from a plastic cup is tricky, and as mentioned before, I didn't notice the clock until I'd nearly crossed the finish line. A new PB to boot as well.
