In short: 1st ever 10k - bit of a shock as it was NOT a flat route!
In full: This was my 1st ever race so a bit nervous & not really sure what to expect. I was surprised at how hard the route was as it was not flat - those gradients really provided a challenge I wasn't expecting. Also, I wasn't able to sprint finish as the grass was really wet & muddy and I was nervous of slipping in front of all the spectators! Hope not all 10ks are like this. There were definitely not enough toilets and difficult at finish line as so many had congregated around it when I finished at 55m. The results were available so quickly which was excellent. If other more seasoned runners thought this was challenging I feel proud to have finished in the time I did.

In short: Decent enough Race. NOT flat .. NO Medals... But a good way to spend a Sundday morning.
In full: Rainforest races in Victoria Park have been better, but it was an OK race with no major problems. It was described as "flat" but I would call it "challenging". I was towards the back but enjoyed the race in general - markers were all in place although my Garmin showed the race as a little over-distance. Goody bag brilliant but no medal!! Not quite enough loos for the size of field. I would certainly do this again but would make sure I was fit enough to cope with the uphills next time.

In short: Nothing special, but a nice morning out.
In full: Goodness only knows why or how I ended up on the start line of a race in Finsbury Park when I live in Devon. This course is a two lap road race with no real hills to speak of. The ground rises and falls but in a way that doesn't trouble you. I don't much care for urban running, but I don't think this event should be slated because of my own gripes on the surroundings. Organisation was pretty good - though signage for bag drops, on the day entry etc could have been improved. Why oh why have a race for a rain forest though and hand out a non bio-degradable bag full of other non degradable bags of rubbish at the end beats me!

In short: Bad organized (they get worst every year)
In full: OK this is going to be my last Rainforest 10K. I've done a few of them and every time there was this issue with baggage drop. This year, not only the baggage facilities were worst than ever (I queued 25 minutes and the race started late because of the people still queueing), but also there were basically no toilets facilities (I mean, you must be joking: 8 portaloos for 2000 people...).

It's not their first year so they must know something about organizing a race. The only reason I can see is cutting costs: 17 pounds for no t-shirt, no medal, no toilets: compare with Silverstone half marathon.

In short: For a relatively large race (over 1,000 runners) the organisation was poor
In full: Given the size of the race, it did not feel like a significant event. The toilet and baggage facilities were poor, and it would have been terrible if the weather had been bad with little shelter. On the good side, the chip timing was excellent, as was the goody bag, whilst the 2 lap route was certainly a challenge, and did allow you to see the race in front and behind.

In short: Shame about the organisation.
In full: Pretty poorly organised, I agree with those before on the toilet and baggage front. The finishing area was chaos and why make us finish on grass!!
Actually quite liked the hills and that the course enabled me to hi 5 my 'slightly' faster friend as passed each other.
Good goodie bag but where was my medal?

In short: Average Race, but I still would have liked a medal!
In full: I was not feeling my best on Sunday so perhaps my feelings towards this race are a little more negative than they should be.

Overall the atmosphere and organisation were good. Very glad that timing chips were provided and results available so quickly.

I would say that describing this race as flat is a little misleading, I felt that I was either running up or down hill the whole course!

The queues for the toilets and baggage did look long but luckily I did not need to use either so it did not affect me.

I was impressed by all the food in the goody bag, although a little sad that there was no medal!

Overall I did not feel like this is a race that I particularly want to do again, it was quite a long way for me to travel to and there was nothing that made it really stand out for me above other 10k races that I have done.

In short: Brilliant race, but no medals!
In full: Really nice setting for my 3rd 10k and I possibly enjoyed this most out of all of them - course looked flat but was deceiving; the subtle gradient became a challenge towards the end! Motivating warm-up although the majority of us missed the start as we were in the queue for a last minute wee!
