In short: I have done the Snowdon Marathon - not a lot people can say that!
In full: This is a fantastic event. My second marathon - did loch ness last year. Got exactly the same time which is bizarre but shows me how much I have improved. So much respect for the race and all those who run it year in year out. I have trained on some hills, but obviously not hard enough, or steep enough, or long enough. That hill at 21 miles - who put that there? I was exhausted to walk up it and my wife's fiat punto just wouldn't make it at all not even in first gear(maybe in reverse.)Loved the 2 mile free fall from 23 miles, I'd practised running steep downhills and this was great fun, if not a lttle hazardous - but my quads are killing me today. There are some great people who run this, and the marshalls and supporters are the best. Diolch yn fawr Llanberis! One of the best experiences of my life, let alone races. PS sticking a steep hill in the last mile was a bit of an in joke wasn't it?

In short: Keep your even paced 'if I make it to 20 in 2 hrs 30 i'm okay' this is shocking! 4 miles knackered 22 to go HOW!
In full: Makes you re think everything you ever thought you knew about marathoning. Do people run up the last hill? How many black toe nails means you did well? When did you need a Mars bar so much at 17 miles..and lastly how do you do Beachy Head, Snowdonia and Dublin in three days. I didn't I just ran with about five people that did! Bloody hell! Good

In short: My 15th marathon and third Snowdonia - back next year, unmissable
In full: It's all said below. I sort of `ran` up the big hill with a gent who was on his 18th Snowdonia. He left me half way up. Maybe when I get to my 18th I'll have learnt how to do it!

In short: Probably the best marathon in the world
In full: This was my first step up to a marathon and wow!!. The atmosphere was so much friendlier than any other distance. The spectators cheered everyone on. A tough course but don't let that put you off, the views make up for it. Bring on number two.

In short: Snowdon - How to lay a ghost
In full: The last time I went to Snowdon was on a scholl trip 20 years ago. I failed to make it to the top and it has been a symbol of what hard looks like for me ever since. My personal challenge was to complete this run as my 10th marathon. It's every bit as tough as anyone tells you but - with brilliant weather - great support around the course - and stunningly beutiful scenery - its just awesome. The chat I had with another runner between 16 and 17 miles set me up I had a target of 4.5 - 5 hrs but he talked me into the possibility of sub 4. I took his advice on the big hill at 21 and just walked it hard. I came under four hrs and two minutes faster than my London time this year. How good do I feel? Its not my fastest time ever but it is my personal best. Every runner should do this race
