In short: More like Mordor than Pontypandy. In full: My first marathon. One of the most surreal experiences i have ever had. A very special weekend. Although physically i felt ok, mentally ,looking back retrospectively, i was all over the place. I have given up trying to explain the weather conditions to anyone who wasn't there. Seeing the wind whip a guy in the air like a Karate sweep was like a hallucination..... Date of review: November 3, 2008

In short: Will I be back????? The jury is still out In full: I have never been so cold and wet, at least at that other marathon in the mountains they had their weatherproof gear on! The last three miles I could have cried I was so tired and cold but I got to the finish somehow, did this race in 2007 and loved it, this year I finished 1 minute slower. That hill at 21 miles really is a killer, I feel I might have to keep trying until I can run all the way to the top!!!(or not!) Date of review: October 30, 2008

In short: well worth the up-hill struggle! In full: Organization was good but the end was dissapoiting as no one could direct me to the showers, bit of a scramble for a cup of tea at the end. Views are amazeing! Would definatly do this again! This being my first marathon i didnt know what to expect, ive come away feeling very pleased. Well done to the marshalls for braveing the elements!
