In short: A marriage of a run - you have to work hard at it to get results
In full: Like any marriage or relationship, you have to work hard at it and you get back what you put in. This run is no different! Hadn't run a marathon for nearly 18 months but had trained plenty, the Maidstone Half being my last warm-up event the week before. The difference in conditions couldn't have been any more different! Mild and pleasant compared with so stormy when I woke up, I almost hoped it would be cancelled. Glad it wasn't, great run, amazing scenery and views. Watching so many fellow runners of all abilities making their way up the pass of Llanberis was a sight indeed, made all the more difficult with a very tough headwind. Final few miles very tough, hard work up the steep hill at 21, just as diffcult coming down the muddy track. Fellow runners, marshalls and support in the town helped me through last mile. Amazing run. Just never again!!

In short: I could easily have been persuaded to keep my leggings on and sit in the cafe in the warm and dry. Very glad I didn't. Hard run, especially the last slippery downhill section but worth the effort for that feelgood feeling at the end.

In short: One of the best days of my life.
In full: My first marathon. I chose the right one. beautiful scenery, dramatic weather, dunkirk spirit amongst the runners. Locals out in support despite the inhospitable weather. The army giving out mars bars.I will be back next year.

In short: Cold, wet, windy, hilly. Brilliant race.
In full: My first marathon found it really tough, but minutes after crossing the finishing line I knew I would be back to do it again.

In short: Snowdons a magnet.
In full: I was running this as part of the Triple i.e Beachy,Snowdon and Dublin and the Snowdon was spectacular as always the beauty of the surrounding mountains and lakes just leaves you feeling uplifted, despite the 4 mile climb in the begining the spirit of comaraderie was wonderful, and in some ways reminded me of the Comrades ultra-marathon in S.Africa (which I love). So all in all I would recommend this to anyone that likes asthetically beautiful but challenging marathon courses.

In short: Amazing!
In full: This was my first marathon and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The vile weather didn't dampen the spirit of the race, in fact, i would say it added to it. The rain came down in sheets, with hurricane like winds blowing with it. The experience was almost surreal. The course was tough, but beautiful. The hill at 21 was more like a mountain, but the descent that followed made the climb worthwile. I flew down, screaming like a banshee, and laughing all the way. It was the best part of the race. It is definately a race for all standards of runners, and people new to marathons should not be put off by the hype. This is a race all about acheivement and less about PB's.
