In short: Did this for the first time in 2009, and I have my name down for 2010. This race starts with a steep hill, a bit like the Wycome Half Marathon!!

In short: First ever 10k
In full: I loved this race! The first 1k is mostly uphill but after that it was fine. Friendly people who I chatted to as I ran past (well, some of them!) but I didn't start far enough forward! And they ran out of Mars bars before I finished - that will teach me. Lovely medal though my bf wrote the wrong date on the back of it! Ha ha! And the times were up the next day, fantastic!

In short: Who chose that hill?
In full: Never done this one before. As I stood around looking to see where the course would exit the park and made the assumption that the gentle slope opposite from the road was where we would go - no worries I thought. Wrong! We were lined up next to where the entrance to the park is and off we went . . not straight on but sharp left up what by the time I reached half way felt like K2! That was a cruel trick whoever planned that!

Wonderful countryside to run in - well marshalled. Only let down was there was no goody bag at all. I will do this again this time better prepared!

In short: "Starts with a challenging Hill . . . " - and how!
In full: Yes, they described it correctly! It's a steep start and then it gets even steeper! Once you get over that bit everything evens out fairly well and the route does more gentle things. Bonus is that you get to run down the same hill at the end which gives you great energy for a sprint finish. Didn't spot any signs to the event when I arrived at 55 mins before start. Tricky entrance road with cars parked everywhere. I arrived early so wasn't too bad. Can't imaging what it was like later. Also, reams of red/white tape (5 lines of it) between car park and main event area. Need to be good at limbo. Great cakes, tea/coffee, bear tent & tombola.

In short: Good race, always good to get the hill out of the way early!! Timing spot on . Could have been a sign at Wooburn Green to show way to start. n

In full: Hill at the start and the end and the remainder flat on country roads. Well organised and good occasion.

In short: Top local race with good organisation
In full: My second time for this race... had forgotten the middle 8k as being the undulating side of flat. Most of the last k is down hill so even if you've had a bad run you can look forward to that particular thrill

In short: Hard up the hill, better back down it again :)
In full: Wifes 1st 10k race, the hill at the start is pretty tough but otherwise no major hills. We both enjoyed it a lot, marshall were friendly and motivating. Only slight grumble were the mens toilets, never seen a q bigger for the mens than the ladies before :)
