In short: Undulating but nice course
In full: This is the first year I've done this race and the first half I've done solo with no running buddy or music to help me along so it was a special challenge for me. It was very very windy which made the course hard going in places when the wind was blowing you almost off the road but the undulation was just that, little ups with little downs to even it out.
Really friendly marshals well thought out course, people all seemed friendly and although it was freaking freezing it was a lovely race.
I will aim to b back next year :)

In full: Pleasant rural 1/2M not too hilly - mainly long shallow uphills and downhills. Second half quicker as more downhill and wind assisted this year - first half very windy due to the rural open nature. All bus transfers etc worked well and generally traffic free. Well marshalled.

In short: Brilliant way to finish race year
In full: Smoothly run straight from clearly signed parking getting on shuttle bus to event, undulating first nine yes 9 miles uphill with a few small downs but it was nice scenery and like training here around the back roads of home...good atmosphere clapping cheering marshalls and everyone seemed to chat and enjoy it after the finish...queues for everything baggage, toilets refreshments were long but dispersed quickly like a well oiled machine top bacon sandwich for £1.50 not a rip off van....a race run by runners for runners memento was a rucksack some people moaned but personally a nice touch (how many t-shirts can you wear with different events ) ..great run to burn belly off for Christmas stuffing your face time thanks guys..

In short: Superb!
In full: My second time at this beautifully organised and very friendly half-marathon: Very smooth running of coaches to the race venue, a very scenic course, slightly undulating, marshals who clearly enjoyed cheering us on, fast results service and another fabulous memento - a backpack! Bedford Harriers at their best, again! I shall be back next year. My sincere thank-you to everyone for staging such a lovely event.

In short: Cold day with some hilly challenges
In full: Good organisation with parking and coaches but meant a lot of hanging around to ensure you didn't miss last bus etc
Very cold wind and a scary stretch on a fast road but well marshalled and great bag drop and chop removal.

In short: great race
In full: great race, great marshalls, great everything really - just one gripe. please put more staff on the refreshments bar at the end in the hall. having to wait half an hour for a sausage sandwich and a coffee is a bit disheartening, especially when this is the time that you wish to spend with mates discussing the race, not frustrated in a queue!

In short: Brilliant event, well marshalled, great organisation, fantastic!! Oh, and I PB'd.
In full: My first half marathon in two years, since I started regular monthly marathons. So in effect this was a "competitive" long training run. I got the place by transfer from someone who couldnt make it. Tranfer was quick, easy and smooth on the morning. Organisation and facilities were great, before, during and after the run. Baggage drop and pick-up were quick and smooth. Water stops were regular and well marshalled. All junctions were well marshalled. Goody offer was an excellent, clearly labeled "Bedford Half" rucksack. Bus transfer to and from the car parks was efficient and regular, if a fair walk from the start. (good for shifting some lactate?). I PB'd by at least 4 mins on the gun time, probably 5mins on chip time (not available at time of writing). Oh, chip removal was great as well, lots of marshals with cutters, no need to bend down and remove it yourself. Overall, the best organised half i've ever done. To all organisers, this event sets the standard for you to aspire to.

In short: Solid course, under-organised, a bit cheap all round.
In full: Plastic cups only, shoddy memento, no snacks at finish. Not to mention the terrifying A-road stretch. Profile was good though, uphill to start then down to the finish. PB'd though I wrote off my car on the way home.
