In short: Flat and fast
In full: Pros: Very flat and fast, massive PB potential and I clocked my first sub 3 hour marathon. Lovely Oxfordshire countryside, very nice for a weekend away.
Cons: Water in plastic cups didn't cut it for me, I was very dehydrated by the end of the race. Small bottles from mile 14 onwards?

In short: very well organised, brilliantly marshalled, varied but flat route, great event
In full: superb marshals with some tricky crossings made easy, enthusiastic water stations, great facilities. i'd prefer water bottles in the last 10 -isotonics are a bit sweet and plastic cups just dont do it by that stage. otherwise great event

In short: Lovely marshals, PB course, access, parking & parking good.
In full: This could have been my marathon pb by miles. Abingdon did everything right - I just blew it! Will be happy to come back and try again.

In short: This is an event that every marathon runner should do at least once
In full: An excellent event - no wonder it fills up so quickly. Simply a must do event.

Fast, flat course with plenty of parking, good facilities once you got to the starting & finishing areas. Cheerful & helpful marshals, excellent goodie bag, teas & coffees afterwards, hot showers & a good viewing area.

Thanks for a good event.

In short: Quick friendly race.
In full: Lovely flat course with friendly helpful marshalls. I had to drop out at 19 miles with an injury and was really well looked after by the marshall there plus the sector leader who got me back to the finish.

The supporters, although spread along the course, were all very enthusiastic.

In short: A very friendly, well organised race
In full: Thank you so much to the organisers and all the marshalls who did such a fab job on sunday. I was expecting less marshalls and perhaps a few little holes in organisation compared to bigger events but I was so wrong. I think it's the best marshalled race I've ever done. I would definately recommend it. The scenery is beautiful in places, mostly lovely, although the industrial bit is a bit dull but there was a great little crowd there to cheer us on. If it's your first marathon and you're a nervous runner or you need cheering crowds lining the course to get you round then this probably isn't the one for you. Otherwise go for it! Thank you to everyone once again for making it such a great day.

In short: Perfect day for it!
In full: Big thanks to all involved, esp some of the marshalls who were getting flak from drivers - I saw 2 incidents, so there must have been many others. The race wouldn't exist without you, so thanks for giving up your time.

The course was a bit twisty turny at times I thought, for pure speed, but provided some variety of terrain to break things up.
This was my first 'road' marathon, having done a couple of off road ultras and the Clarendon Mar. last year, and ran a PB of 3:25.
The mile markers for lap 2 on the loop South of Abingdon were a bit demoralising first time round, but the marshalls with souped up ghetto blasters were most welcome! Finishing in the stadium was a nice touch that my children enjoyed too.
Not my fave race ever, but a good one for first-timers and those chasing a PB.

In short: Brilliant Marathon!
In full: I don't normally comment too much on races, but had to say thanks to the organisers of the Abingdon Marathon. Fantastic marshalling, I crossed open roads of traffic and didn't have to break stride once. Being a two lap system is good too, you get to see your own supporters at least twice. A P.B for me too, well chuffed!
