In short: The hills!
In full: I did this event last year when I was introducing my wife to running. We went again this year and enjoyed it apart from the cold. Wonderful to hear the lions roaring before the start, but thankfully didn't see any on the way round. The are two hills - the first of which is run twice - and they are quite steep and long. Not likely to run a fast time as a novice but the hills do separate the runners. The paths are all wide enough to pass (and be passed) without getting in each others way.
The medals were lovely but the goody bag consisted of three separate items and no bag to keep them n. Not the best way of distributing items when runners are short of pockets.

In short: Nice race - a bit overpriced...
In full: Having grown up in the westbury/warminster area,I was looking forward to coming back here to run Longleat as I live in Swindon now. I thought it was a well balanced race with an even amount of uphill, downhill and flat sections, and for me was very memorable as I completed my 1st 10k in under an hour - getting my pb down to 52mins. I'd like to thank the 70 year old bloke who went past with the funny t-shirt on (he made me dig deep when I was feeling completely knacked on the last hill). Also the guy on the mike at the end was really encouraging. I really enjoyed the course and scenery - but does it really justify paying twice what you would for any other 10k race??

In short: Hard Work
In full: As my first 10km race I would say I probably made the wrong choice - having said that I plan to come back next year! The three hill climbs made it really hard work but had rewarding downhills to compensate. I agree with everyone's comments about the toilets, definately need more next year!? Overall, hard work but a fantastic location and a really good group of runners.

In short: Wonderful setting and weather - not so keen on THAT hill.
In full: My first 10km and it was fantastic. Can't walk today, but that's probably my fault. The highlights were the setting, the weather and the PA encouraging you in - he was a star. He got me in under 50 mins but he nearly got my breakfast up too. Definitely a challenging course. Fair play to the old bloke - over 35 years older than me, so it wasn't good to see the back of his t-shirt. Would definitely do it again, so long as I don't dwell on that hill.

In short: Challenging course but great setting
In full: I ran the Cancer Research UK 10 February last year around Longleat and loved it. The Puma Longleat 10k course was totally different though - having to do *that* hill again at 7km was a killer (especially as I'm from the fens!). Whilst its certainly not going to be a PB course for me, I really enjoyed myself and hope to be back again next year!

In short: You can't beat a sunny winter's morning with a few hills thrown-in to make you suck up the cold air!
In full: Great encouragement from the bloke on the PA for the run-in. Needed another one like him half way up that hill second time around! Generally organisation and atmosphere were good. One to be recommended.

In short: The brilliant organisation makes this event fun.
In full: Second year of doing this, and it's well worth the trip over the bridge. We are definately coming back next year. May even book into Bath for a spa after the race. A big thank you to the bloke on the mike at the finish - supberb encouragement got me in quicker than last year.
