In short: Brilliant event, and superb organisation. My joint favourite event of the year with Helsby 4 villages in January
In full: Yet again another brilliant GCR and I managed to get a great time for me of 1:59:44. I love this event, great start at the Castle, amazing countryside, superb support through the villages and a grandstand finish.....Awesome event. My 4th time and I will be back next year for sure.

GCR organisers and marshals .... Take a bow you deserve it

In full: Travelled up from Sheffield for this race. Not too many runners and managed to get into a good rhythm. My GPRS reckoned we covered 22.6km, which added about 7.5 mins onto my actual finish time of 1h53. Am I the only one who thought this was a long 13.1 miles? Lovely people in Carlisle and pleasant scenery throughout race. Thanks to 1178 for her company and pace setting.

In short: my home race
In full: cumbrian run is a good half, about 400 feet of climb overall so average undulating half. most of climb is within the first 3.5 miles then mostly flat from there on in - except 1 small hill at around 11.5 miles. good t-shirt and medal to finish, good crowd support. start slightly congested - but after 400 yards course opens up so its easy to overtake if u need 2. worth the congested start to run through the castle gates. entries now open for 2011, i'm in, cant wait for 2nd october 2011

In short: so much better than last year, the weather was much kinder and a lot more support on route.the castle makes a lovely backdrop for the start and it was much better having runners only in the castle grounds.
