In short: Great course for PB
In full: Garmin showed 13.12 miles a little long but with weaving in and out of crowds still claiming my PB on this course as official. Traffic needs to be sorted big time as this was a real letdown. The organisers and marshals otherwise did a brilliant job and thank you. I will be back next year so would expect trafic problem to be fixed.

In short: Good flat race in excellent weather. Ideal to set a PB.
In full: Much better this year, probably due to the weather!

Well organised race which is good for beginners and more experienced runners.

Parking was a nightmare and the hour getting out of the car park did take the gloss off. I also preferred the gift last year, have too many t-shirts to mention.

Overall a great event and I will be back.

In short: There are faults but hopefully can be fixed
In full:

My First time at this event and also for my sister we were both generally impressed with the high levels of organisation. Fantastic atmosphere at the events runners village.

Their headquarters was open to the elements with no cover or facilities to protect athlete and spectator alike which would be a major problem should the skies open. Luckily on this occasion the sun was smiling which was lucky because there was a 10 minute wait at the start line.

It was nice being able to park cars close to the race start but of little use if it takes an age to get into it. We were in our car for almost an hour which anyone would agree is unacceptable. Leaving the event was also a nightmare. Also the car-park attendants looked way out of their depth and added to the bottleneck.

The run was good although there were way too many people left to wander the course when running back past the HQ, marshals should have been controlling this.

There was beautiful scenery on the south Wales coastline which was a pleasure to run along and the camaraderie among the runners was great.

A nice return stretch to the finish line but too long a wait at the finish funnel was a minor let down but would again be worse if the weather had been bad. Medal, t-shirt and certificate (forgot to pick mine up) added to the good value of the event.

No PB for me ... my Sunto showed 13.11 miles; my sister bettered her best time by over a minute and her Timex showed 13.12 miles.

The traffic points must be addressed. We will attend again but if the satisfactory changes have not been made we will not travel down the M4 to Llanelli again.

In full: found the route mentally quite challenging.

garmin clocked 13.23.

didn't have any trouble with the car park, appreciated the medal and the t-shirt (an improvement on last year) and really grateful to the cheery commentator - thanks for your enthusiasm.

will be back next year - well done and thanks to the organisers.

In short: Very good event - BUT
In full:
I was in two minds whether to slate the event on traffic problems or not.

I decided not, the positives outweighed this one seriously bad point, but it must be fixed next time so beware.

So will start the review at another point. Excellent pre-event service (deliberately miss review of travel to event and traffic leading into the event HQ!!). Great atmosphere on day and lots to see and do. Lovely free massage and fun at the start. The unusually perfect weather made the extra 10 minutes wait for start acceptable but if raining (or cold, or snowing etc), there is "no cover" for athlete or spectator so this would have been disastrous. Run start good. Lots of support at some sections of run. Congested coming back past the HQ, they should have had marshals clearing the crowds and dog walkers. Beautiful scenery over the estuary and turned at a point marked on the east section that "was marshalled". Back to the finish to great support. A PB for me but Garmin showed 13.07 miles so course distance needs to be questioned? Nice mementos to include shirt, medal and certificate. "Did not want" booklets or leaflets so not again please. Nice pancake to refuel but only after another free massage. (Deliberately miss out review of exit from car park after event!!!).

Much better last year so the organisers showed they can do better so I hope they learn their lessons as next time I will not be so forgiving.
