In short: Well organised, surprisingly scenic - quite a tough course though...
In full: First time doing the Coventry half and must be said, thought the organisation was great and the route had the ideal mix of street roads and park scenery. Found the course a lot tougher than I thought, with a few killer hills (park hill lane one was horrid!) and the weather was a lot sunnier than expected. However, it was generally an enjoyable morning and I would do it again.

In short: Surprisingly good :o)
In full: To be brutally honest, not alot about Coventry impresses me...... but this did. One of the best organised halves ive done..... and one of the toughest ha ha. Great marshalling, great crowds, brilliant organisation. Not bad for £16. The only thing I chuntered abit about was folk not starting where they should but to be fair, the resposibility for that is down to the runners themselves maybe a marshalled pen system could be the nextstep similar to GNR or GER. Buts its a minor point. Its a great race and would love to see it get bigger. Finishing in the city centre was brilliant. I cant speak highly enough of this event, see you in May

In short: Great day out, good atmosphere, good organisation, great weather!
In full: My second Coventry Half and much better than last year, good to see the organisers listening to feedback and making improvements - the start in particular.

No faults this year (though I suspect mile marker 8 was out and the race clock was 1 minute slow?), but enjoyed my run, good support, good marshalling and lovely autumn scenery!

In short: A very pleasant race to compete in - excellent organisation
In full: This was a very enjoyable race. The organisers' attention to detail was evident, and lessons were learnt from last year, re. baggage store queues.
There was a lovely atmosphere from very early on in the morning - goodness know how they managed to get a rock band to play at 8am. The official warm-up was a bit cringing, though, I didn't see anyone partaking - most runners would have already completed their own warm-up and just wanted to start the race.
The route really is good - it's not an easy course - with some good undulations between miles 3 and 5. The second half does seem much flatter, or at least without the sharper or longer gradients.
With the race moving to May next year, if this leads to an increase in participants, it might cause too much of a blockage on the uphill Park Hill Lane pedestrian stretch, which was crowded this year (any excuse to get the worst hill removed). A good route for the last mile and the noisy crowds in the Broadgate finish area were uplifting as I ran the last 200m.
A really enjoyable day.

In short: Great Run didn't realise Coventry had hills
In full: I was expecting a flat course so was surprised by some of the hills towards the start of the race and coming out of Warwick University. Good race though thoroughly enjoyed it apart from falling over right at the end of the race.

In short: It is in Coventry after all...
In full: My 1st ever race; thought the organisation was the stringest point - good water stations every 3 miles. Loads of marshalls. Didn't find the hills too bad, as I thought it was about as flat as you can get, for the area, which is surprisingly hilly for the midlands.

In short: Lovely route, crowds, support, marshalls
In full: Everything went smoothly and to clockwork. The route was lovely and never realised Coventry had so many pretty parks, even most of the road routes were lined with autumnal trees.
Loads of public out cheering, marshalls everywhere(!), some good challenging hills to get something different in the legs working even if it did feel like more ups than downs!
Not much of a goody bag but a good medal and a good area for start and finish.
Only one piece of advice for the organisers and the future - don't make this race any bigger. There were narrow parts which avoided bottlenecks in most cases, but only just. Any more and course and it would have slowed us down.

In short: Coventry keeps on learning
In full: I've done this race every year since 2006 and it gets better every year. Well thought out route, well publicised locally, great buy in from local council and businesses. Minor irritations about the start from last year were rectified for this year. Very professional finish area, plenty of medical staff en route, LOADS of marshalls. A great advert for the city of Coventry

In short: Lovely day great organisation
In full: Another PB here for me here even though the course was a little on the tough side more hills than expected. Great organisation not to many netrants but enough for it to be a City half. Great value will defenatly be back next year well done coventry
