In short: There can`t be many tougher?!
In full: I knew it was hilly, I like hills, I`m good on hills and it still surprised me!

Great race base although the tea ladies were cake gestapo. Easy to register and park plus stuff to do for little uns. Nice memento from a good value race.

They said it was easier this year which is misleading, surely? Great fun though and don`t ever think the hills have finished!

In short: What goes up...... (comes down.......eventually!)
In full: Well worth getting out of bed early on a chilling January morning. The first 4.5 miles are generally all uphill. But you're not going to get anything else round these parts. Eventually, there's a good downhill stretch just before the last killer couple of hundred yards (uphill - again!)

A nicely organised race; nothing flash or fancy, but it works fine. And top marks for not charging extra for on-the-day entry.
Good facilities at race HQ, and well marshalled road junctions.

It's a challenging route - but if it was easy, where would the fun in that be?
The scenery is gorgeous; if you can manage to take it all in. I swear I saw my heart, still beating, breaking outta my body, and flying away.....

In short: Not for the faint heart, queasy stomach or wobbly legs!
In full: I love this run! Third year of dragging myself up and down the hills and it's worth it. Nothing like the smell of horse manure to get you going!

In short: Hills and more hills..... but so scenic
In full: Been contemplating this for about 3 years now and finally braved it, with support to get round! Hard run as straight into one of the many hills. Good marshalling on the course. It was well worth the wait and pleased to have got round. May be back next year. The scarf was just right for the day.Excellent choice. THank you.

In short: Lots of hills and ice to wake you up on a January morning. Good marshals and scarf at the finish was a nice touch.

In short: Hilly run on a cold icy morning
In full: really enjoyed this race. As already pointed out by many there are a lot of hills but the last 1.5 miles is all fast downhill (apart from the last 200 yards!). A particularly icy cold morning didn't help for a faster time but PB hunters should probably stay away from this one anyway. The scarf was an excellent idea.

In short: It's cold on them thar hills
In full: I'm not keen on hills although I know they're good for me - this was as much of a good thing as I could handle! I found it a tough course and unfortunately because of the icy conditions it wasn't always possible to make up lost ground on the downhill stretches. The marshalls were great - helpful and friendly, the tea and cakes lived up to their reputation and the scarf memento makes a nice change from the medal/t-shirt norm.

In full: First time doing Meltham today and loved it! Endorphins certainly got their chance to boost me up the hills, but wasn't actually as bad as I thought it was going to be at all- and I got a PB so very chuffed. Thanks to the marshalls for their hard work this morning, especially for slowing us down on the ice laden steep corner. Scarf as a finishing gift absoutely spot on for todays frosty affair.
