In short: Undulating 10 miler luckily not hot this year
In full: Local 10 miler we usually do as a Club Championship race. This year warm not blazing like last year respectable time well run by Harlow RC. Nice finish on the race track I do like finishes like that not in a school or whatever. Well done to John Clarke 1st place after injury.

In short: A friendly race which challenges but leaves you glowing!
In full: I did this race in 2008 and struggled with the heat so I didn't appreciate the surroundings and good support. This time round (2009) the temperature was much more accomodating so it certainly helped with my overall view of the race. Firstly, I like the Monks Sports Hall, with decent facilities and the atletics track which is ideal for a warmup. I found the start a little cramped but once you're off it's a case of steady as she goes for the gentle climb for about 3 miles. The route was well marked and marshalled and although it's not always scenically beautiful, it's definetly pleasant enough. I did like the mixture of tracks and road and it's good to know that generally it's downhill from 7 miles to home. The track finish is a highlight - I did a great Usain Bolt for 5 seconds. All in all the marshalls, water stations and ambience is excellent. The results are available quickly both at the race and on the website which is an added bonus. Well done HRC!

In short: The best organised race I have ever been to
In full: Not the easiest of courses but a great route.

Very well organised. Course very well marked and clear to follow, however, didn't need it as marshalls everywhere. Water station every 2.5 miles with bottles rather than cups.

Great atmosphere all the way around. Loved the track finish just like being at the Olympics.

Well done Harlow.

In full: Course bit narrow in places. Easy access to showers afterwards. Car parking well-organised.

In short: Good run - not too big. Felt homely.
In full: My first 10mile so can't compare it with others but it was a good run. Good scenery and little traffic.
Well organised without any fuss. I would recommend a better loudhaler for next year as no one other than the few runners directly in front of the announcer could hear any of the pre-race info. Perhaps this was when they informed us that there were no toilets along the entire route - that would explain why I had no idea.
Appart from these small issues, I had a great run in the sunshine and would certainly consider doing it again.
(Good T-shirt too)

In short: Couldn't be faulted. Well done Harlow RC.
In full: Really well organised. No problems at all with parking, venue, facilities, water stations etc. Great marshalls - encouraging and very efficient with traffic so runners weren't held up at all. Nice course once you left the housing estate and a track finish. Some inclines made it tougher than at first appeared, but at least it wasn't too hot this year. (3 water stations - with bottle - and a sponge station were well stocked and manned.) Varied range of abilitites made it suitable for even beginners. Well done to the Army guys running (with HEAVY rucksacks)for Help for Heroes. Extra bonus -results already posted on website before 6p.m.
