In short: Great, well organised race
In full: The snake was worth the hype, first time and really enjoyed it. Other than the confusion at the start, organisation, marshalls excellent. Mug and chocolate a nice touch. Looking forward to the next one.

In short: Well organised flat-ish race
In full: This race was well organised with plently of parking and friendly marshalls. Bit of a different start as we walked for 5 mins to get there and a little confusion at the start as people were lining up on the wrong side of the start line. Route was pretty flat although there were a few rises around the 8-9 mile mark but nothing too bad with the wind blowing us back. Thought the mug and chocolate bar at the end was a great idea.
Only one small comment that the queue for the ladies toilets were quite long at all 3 locations, maybe a few more porta loos would help this.
Overall a good race which I would consider running again.

In short: Windy
In full: But there's not a lot the organisers can do about that! There was a bit of confusion at the start as mentioned by another reviewer. It was more undulating that I expected but no major hills meant it was still prety fast despite the wind. Thanks to all the marshalls etc. Parked without problems and easy to get away afterwards. Nice mug as a memento.

In short: An awesome race which is very well organised.
In full: There was a little confusion just before the start as the faster runners were all right on the line and wouldn't budge to let us slower runners get behind them. This led to lots of pushing and shoving before the race even started, but that's the only negative thing I have to say about the whole day.

Once underway the run was a little crowded at first, but after the first mile everyone was nicely spread out so that we could all settle into our comfortable paces. There were plenty of long, winding roads where you could see the elite runners already a mile ahead of you, but that also meant that we got a great view of the scenery which was lovely.

The first 3 miles seemed to have a lot of downhill parts, and what goes down usually comes up again in a race, and this was no exception. By mile 5 we had some nice steady inclines, but a water point at the top made it bearable. The water point gave out plastic cups of water which, although easier to spill, are much more environmentally friendly than giving out a whole bottle to everyone. There were plenty of marshals clearing up the cups too so the road didn't get littered with them. I'd like to say sorry to the marshal who I threw my cup of water at - it was an accident and I was trying to miss you, honest!

Mile 6 brought the very twisty 'Snake Lane' and then some reasonably long slightly uphill sections. The uphill ended at mile 8 where the marshals were cheering us all on and reassuring us that it was an easy 2 miles back with the wind behind us, and right they were.

There were plenty of people cheering at the finish line, and everyone got a decent mug and some chocolate. Lucky runners got a decent t-shirt if they were randomly chosen at the finish.

My target was to beat the time my boss set when he did the race a few years ago. I beat him by over two minutes, and that was made all the sweeter by the fact that he was one of the marshals timing it this year.

All in all this was a great race - it was superbly marshalled, I set a massive P.B, and I'll definitely be back next year!

In short: Excellent race, well organised
In full: A well organised race on a flat rural course, only problems were the usual runners moans, the wind was against you most of the way, and when it wasn't you started going up hill! I'm sure the race director would say that's how it should be. Looking forward to next year
