In short: Excellent PB potential In full: Good turnout from the locals, lots of friendly runners and even though there were 15,000 runners, no bottlenecks. Very good.... nice medal. Not as good as last years tho'. GMI Date of review: October 27, 2005

In short: Gets better every year, fabulous race and atmosphere In full: I love the South Run, it is one of my favourite races and it gets better every year. The wave start makes a huge difference and has almost alleviated the problem of getting stuck behind slower runners or walkers. The atmosphere was great and the support fantastic, the organisation very good and the weather just right. Did miss a few of the mile markers, don't know if that was just me or the level they were placed at. Hope the race doesn't get too much bigger as it may then lose the great organisation in trying to cope with the numbers. Date of review: October 21, 2005

In short: Second time of doing the Great South Run and hope to be back next year! In full: My favourite of all the Great Runs Keep it in Pompey - keep it near the sea front, and please DON'T MAKE IT TOO BIG, and spoil it. Thank you.

In short: Fourth time I've run this race - looking forward to the fifth next year! In full: I heard that there are concerns that the organisers believe the race has got too big for Portsmouth to handle and that next years race might shift location. That would be a great shame. Keep the race in Pompey. Date of review: October 18, 2005

In short: Excellent organisation, great atmoshere, the best Great Run for me! In full: I decided to run all of the BUPA great runs and this is my 4th event. It was definitely the best, begin enough for a really good atmosphere but not too big (like the GNR), very flat and fast. The wave start worked perfectly and there was hardly a walker in the first wave (thanks guys!). All in all a great 10 miler, thoroughly recommended to experienced and beginners Date of review: October 16, 2005
