In short: How steep is the exit to the tunnel??? In full: Good run, excellent atmosphere. Impressed with the goodie bag even though my wife thought the run was sponsered by Morrisons (see medal). Text timing was a nice touch so quick after the race finish. Would definantly reccommend. Date of review: June 2, 2008

In short: A very unique race. In full: After taking up running a year ago was looking forward to this one alot being from the Wirral, the tunnel was as steep as expected, didn't expect to beat my PB but was happy with time, couple of nice points to mention, the shouts of 'OGGY, OGGY, OGGY' was class, nice touch also with the water showers. Get yourselves booked on it for 2009. Date of review: June 2, 2008

In short: A good route but usual organisational irritations In full: This is the second time I have done this race and would definitely recommend it. It's fun to run through the tunnel and the run along the prom is great (barking dogs and the odd cyclist aside) although it's always disconcerting to be able to see the finish from such a long way off!
Minus points - no where near enough toilets at the start, I have never seen that many people queuing anywhere. As someone else has said people who live in the Pall Mall area will soon - quite rightly - become annoyed with their streets being used as urinals. Also the end is a mess. The immediate area is very cramped made much worse by the fact that everyone's families with pushcahirs and dogs are blocking the way for runners who want to collect their medals, get their chips cut off and go and put on something warm. Make it a runners only area!!!
Plus points - I think this is a fast course and the hill out of the tunnel is fine if you know what you're doing. Also free travel on Merseyrail to and from the course. Also this year about an hour after I had finished I got a text with my time and position, speedy service. A baggage bus takes your stuff over to Wirral and it's quick to retrieve it at the end, better than the usual scuffle waiting at a tent.
Ladies if you don't like running with a lot of men you might want to avoid it. Out of 1838 runners only 483 were women. Personally, I enjoy running past them all when they are walking out of the tunnel, ha ha! Date of review: June 2, 2008

In short: Thru the Mersey tunnel & along the river front In full: Wow! A few uphill challenges, including coming out of the Mersey Tunnel and a great final 3k along side the Mersey River. Two friends did their first ever race and loved it. Great organisation, 1,800 runners, two bottled water stations and great goody bags. Highly recommended Date of review: June 1, 2008

In short: What hill? In full: The race was superbly well organised, ran like clockwork and was blessed with cool weather and a light breeze. The tunnel atmosphere was brilliant, with shouts of "oggy oggy oggy" and the hill was nowherenear as bad as I feared. Wonderful view on the Wirral of the Liverpool skyline and the firemen with the spray shower was a wonderful bonus! T-shirt was really nice (and fits) and the goody bag had plenty to keep you going. Free transport back was busy, but efficient. I would undoubtedly recommend this race to those looking to experience an unusual race setting in a fantastic city! Date of review: June 1, 2008

In short: Been there done that In full: The attraction of running through the tunnel aside this race is average in scenery and atomosphere. The organisation is improving but I found the end pick up area a bit chaotic and the small number of toilets at the start wasn't great. This race starts in a residential area and how long will it be before residents start to complain about people peeing outside their homes. This was the best organised Runliverpool event I've taken part in but they still have some way to go, hopefully they will continue to improve. Date of review: June 1, 2008
