In short: A well organised race. Well done to Mark and his team!
In full: I liked the new route because it cut out some of the hills. I enjoyed running along carless roads and through the country lanes. Most of the marshalling was really enthusiastic and I liked the frequent drinks stations. I actually enjoyed the day!

In full: This was my first St Albans Half Marathon. Its a new route this year. I didnt like the starting leg from through the park. It was too narrow and bottle necked easily. Please make it wider next year. Also please organise the starting pens. Some very slow runners positioned themselves near the front of the start. This caused a little chaos at the bottle neck. On the plus side this was an otherwise a well put together event. Ok Medal, decent marshalling, good countryside views and an ice lolly at the end.

In short: Brilliant support and marshalling, closed roads throughout and pleasant scenery
In full: A much bigger race than I expected - c. 3300 entrants - and a little congestion at the start but soon thinned out. Was positively surprised that we ran on closed roads throughout, water stations virtually every mile and a huge number of marshalls, helpers and supporters. Generous goody bag too. Thanks to the organisers.

In short: Very nice
In full: A nice race well organised plenty of water stations the cadets marshalling did a sterling job my only gripes were the no mp3 rule & the militant steward at the end I don't appreciate being spoken to in that manner

In short: Extremely well organised race, with really good atmosphere. Challenging course with plenty ups and downs, but that makes it interesting. Would highly recommend.

In short: Fun race, challenging but good atmosphere
In full: Really enjoyed this as this is my local half marathon and had been meaning to enter for years. The route is quite hilly - very few flat stretches except through the residential areas but attractive. It crosses the M25 but this was quite fun as a lot of the cars beeped at us for support! The marshals were supportive and lots of families were out in their front lawns to cheer us on. The water was provided in cups, which might be annoying for some, but I prefer that since I carry my own drink anyway and just want a few sips of water along the way. Nice medal and you get a t-shirt and lolly too. There's a good runner's village with a number of stalls and marquees. The only problems were the tiny number of lavatories and parking. I live in St Albans and thought I was being "clever" by finding alternative areas to park, but these were full too. It took a long time to get out of the city centre (would have been faster for me to walk home!!). Quite a few warnings of doom for about people wearing headphones!! Overall I enjoyed the race and will be back next year - just won't be driving to the event.

In short: Really nice course, decent medal and a lolly on a hot day. Sadly let down a bit by the terrible parking arrangements. I'd definitely do it again if the parking was improved!
