In short: Who put that hill in the way?! In full: Entered this as part of a build up to my first Marathon and it was a really good race for that purpose - and it's sold as such. The organiser's weren't helped by the weather, with very stong winds blowing right into you face as you headed up the steep hill. But I suppose I can't blame them for that. 2 laps, and I did get lapped (first time there) but it's long enough that it didn't feel repetetive (although I could have done without that transmitter hill again). I liked the T-shirt collection before, as it meant I got a size that fitted me, rather than an elephant. Facilities pretty good in the school - no queue to the ladies either, which was a bit of a first! The most supportive marshals imaginable. The one who told me, on the first lap, to run my own race, they'd be there as long as we needed them, was just typical. They must have been freezing, but I think every one of them clapped and said something encouraging each time. Not traffic free, but (at the back) that wasn't an issue. Could be argued that the cut off time of 3 hours was a bit tight, but I consider myself a slowcoach & I got round. Would I have entered this if I wasn't heading for a marathon? Possibly not, but it fits right into a marathon build-up and I might feel the need to sort out that PB next year. Date of review: January 24, 2012
In short: Great race, brilliantly organised In full: Undulating rather than hilly, but challenging in the wind. Great organisation, friendly marshalling. Car parking a long way away from the HQ, but made better by excellent shuttle service. I had a great day. I'll almost certainly be back next year. Date of review: January 23, 2012

Yes yaxley delivered us a top class event again , just wish they could have the power to halt the wind, made very welcome, loved the hospitality. other big races should come and watch and learn from these guys how to organise. see you next year Date of review: January 22, 2012
In short: The wind, the wind..... In full: Really well marshalled and loved the limo to take us from car park to Race HQ. Prompt prize giving and the quiet room for changing after the race was great. Great technical t-shirt in a colour that will encourage it to be worn for training nights. Third time I've run this race and the windiest. Challenging hills, cranked up for the second lap. Nearly burst into tears for the last hill at 14 miles. Date of review: January 22, 2012
In short: I love this race...wind ,hills, Bacon Rolls....what more do you need? In full: Thank you to all the marshalls, it must have been chilly in some places...right from the car park to the finish line they did a great job .....See you next year. Date of review: January 22, 2012
In short: Real tough test, battling up pretty big hills into gale force winds! In full: I'll sleep well tonight! A good challenging course with tasty hills made much harder by huge winds. Fighting up the hill at 8-9 into the teeth of a gale certainly made you breathe a wee bit harder. Just managing to stay on your feet was a major victory at times in such brutal conditions! This is a brilliantly organised race backed up by special marshals along the entire course - a big well done to you all. You did us all proud on a tough day. Date of review: January 22, 2012
In short: Well organised, encouraging marshals In full: This is an excellent race for this time of year. It launches you nicely into the 'long' racing season, and is quite a challenges, with the hills coming regularly. There are plenty of stretches in the race that enable you to get into a good rhythm, and for the second year in a row I enjoyed the experience.
The organisation is good, and the marshals very friendly and encouraging.
The only beef: lack of showers. Date of review: January 31, 2011
In short: Worthwhile! In full: Nicest touch had to be at the crossroads on the second lap when the marshalls shouted your name using the entry numbers to give you support- much appreciated! Great race and am looking forward to doing it again next year. Date of review: January 28, 2011
