In short: An excellent Marathon! All part of the feastival of running organised by Lincolnshire Council.
In full: Organisation was fine with three races on the day with the Mayoress starting us all off. This is my second marathon and I'd like to say a big thank you to all the marshalls and all the guys 'n' girls 'manning' the water stations! The choice of energy drinks from mile 13 onwards certainly help keeping the legs going! Hopefuly I'll get London next year but I'll definately be running at Mablethorpe next year. Well done everyone!

In short: Ran 10k, fast route with no major organisational issues. A few could do better points
In full: Despite out and back, dull, promenade route of 10k I liked it. Reassuringly flat and great to know that after 6k I wouldn't be running with wind. Due to this I ran a good time. Few organisational issues, mashalling good overall and chaotic nature of route through busy seaside town doesn't help. All friendly and with the odd exception helpful and devoted a long day to helping out - many Thanks to all. Would be nice if they could get presentations in at times when other races leaders weren't finishing. Minor gripe, was told before start that showers would be "members only" which wasn't true. At end of 10k there was no setup to take chips, give out medals/t-shirts. We were told to do after 11:30, wasn't even 10:30 at time. I hung around all day to watch races but others might have wanted to be off. Good idea to get an Olympian in to present medals. I can appreciate though that with three races to organise its hard to get it all dead smooth, bigger, more expensive events have done much worse - I'll be back.

In short: Potentially a great 10k course
In full: This has the makings of a good 10k pb course, but needs marhalls that are directive/vocal the run along the prom was a nightmare having to dodge oncoming runners and then holidaymakers, why was there no lead bike/ surely a cyclist with a whistle would have alerted people to the fact that there was a race in progress. With a bit more thought this could be a good race!

In short: Enjoyed it. Good atmosphere and friendly people. Half Marathon.
In full: Good in general. The half marathon presentation coincided with the first few marathoners coming home and this needs attention and the seafront was a bit of a nightmare with tourists wandering around all over the place. Nice flat course and well marshaled and good encouragement from the marshals too. Goody bag poor considering all the sponsorship and with this in mind the £15 was a bit steep for the entry. I'm not criticising destructively beacause overall it is a good event and could be even better. The race director was very willing to take on board these points when challenged. Will do it again next year assuming I can't do the fantastic Wolds Vets Tough 10 the week before.

In short: There is room for improvement
In full: Fairly well organised, the last three miles, no markers for the marathon. Energy drinks need to start earlier. The prom was a nightmare with passers by. The end was dreadful, I had to find some water, the last thing you need after a marathon is a stick of rock. I dont usually grumble after runs, but was alittle dissapointed yesterday. The marshalls at 20 miles plus should look to give a smuch encouragement as possible and not just point you in the right direction.

In short: Friendly and well organised
In full: I enjoyed the day. Friendly and well organised. The last mile or so needs the marshalling looked at again but the public have as much right to use the promenade as the runners, so maybe a slight change in route could be looked at. My bet is that the good reviews here will out number the not so good. You can't please all of the people all of the time!

In short: Fantastic "small race" festival and a juicy fat PB for me
In full: Great organisation from a non-running committee. A few minor improvements still can be made (energy drinks earlier on; move the marathon start to 9am rather than 10am; ask the marshalls to point out the route rather than just stand at road junctions; double check the mile marker accuracy), but these are small and the organisers have a track record of listening to and acting upon feedback.
Great people, nice massage at the end, hot windy sunny day - not much to complain about!

In short: Another good race, crowds really up for it again, which really helps when you start to flag. Thoroughly enjoyable.

In short: a good flat race to run a pb. liked the run along the sea front at the end
In full: the warmth of the day made the race a challenge but meant that it was nice to linger afterwards in this pleasnt seaside resort. all the helpers were particularly friendly and people went out running alongside the slower runners to keep their spirits up which i thought was amazing
