In short: The last hills a killer In full: Just to echo what everyone else has said, a great course, well organised, lot of support from the marshals and local residents, and for Dame Kelly Holmes to take the time out to attend and hand out the medals.
And I got a new 10k race PB! Date of review: September 9, 2013
In short: First 10k race ever - hard work but great sense of achievement In full: Great atmosphere, well organised, difficult course with lots of hills, especially the last one - hard work at the end, but amazing to come up to the finish with everyone cheering - and of course an added bonus to have Dame Kelly giving me my first ever running medal!! Thank you everyone, and a great village occasion. Date of review: September 9, 2013
In short: Hills but a great challenge In full: My first time doing this race and nothing can prepare you for that hill at the finish, my goodness! Really well organised and so friendly. Having Dame Kelly Holmes there to start the race and present the medals at the finish is a fantastic touch. You won't get a PB here but it's a fantastic challenge and you'll be cheered all the way home. Date of review: September 9, 2013
In short: As always, an event that challenges and cheers you! In full: I'm sure that hill gets steeper by the year! Kelly looks better every year! Just a great event all round with the cheeriest, happy and helpful marshalls of any event I've been to, give them a medal too! Date of review: September 9, 2013
In short: A lovely race in the Kent countryside In full: Had a brilliant morning - my first organised run in 4 years (apart from recent parkruns) and I really hope that I can get back again for it next year. Paid online, race number came in the post a few days later, parking was great, EVERY marshal was friendly and helpful. Chip timers easy to pick up, toilet facilities, and of course started off by Dame Kelly Holmes, who also awarded the finishing medals to everyone. The course itself was scenic, through a little woodland, roads. Hilly (but hey, as well as going up they went down too). Brilliantly organised event for range of runners at different speeds. In short: Lovely Hilly Course! In full: Normally I tend to avoid any race advertised as hilly but this ones an exception! The marshalls were extremely encouraging before and during the race - a big thank you to them. Dame Kelly Holmes at the finish with a medal and a smile for everybody. well attended 2k fun run for the kids. A decent medal. loads of parking. plenty of grub. all adds up to a bloody good race! (if I dare to moan about 1 thing it would be entry on the day charged at £17 - bit high for a 10K me thinks)! Date of review: September 8, 2013
In short: A race that keeps you on your toes. Weald - a welcoming village that knows how to put on a great show! In full: I have entered this race looking for a challenge and I have not been disapointed - a fair amount of downhill in the 1st half with decent playful uphill sections to keep one entertained. 5-8k and the last hill added the spice. Lovely route, immaculate marshalling, friendly and supportive atmosphere both from the marshalls and the villagers themselves. Dame Kelly Holmes presenting each runner with their medal and being nothing but a runner between runners - deffinitely back next year! Date of review: September 8, 2013
