In full: This was the only race I have ever entered where not only was there no form to fill in to actually enter the race, but there were no bibs either! I was told to write my no. down on my hand with a felt tip pen and would receive a special price of £12 for the lack of number!
At least the chip timing worked but this race was an organisational shambles. How can you charge £14 for a 10k with a field of less than 200 with one marshal handing out drinks at one station and not have sufficient entry forms or race numbers and no initiative as to how to cope with the situation (like writing the number on a blank piece of paper and asking people to display it in the usual manner!?)
Very poor........

In short: Run for nothing In full: Ran the race, found out they had an explosion of entries on the day. I pre-registered with my brother in law and when we finished no medals as they had run out!! Since then the organisers have fobbed us off with excuses like the the t-shirts are still at the printers (medium for everyone?). Do it again, no chance!! Date of review: April 7, 2010

In full: Really enjoyed running on the smooth flat circuit. The event was very well organised and you could keep warm until just prior to the start of the race. The course is pretty windy in parts, but my husband and I both PB'd on the day and we'll definitely be doing this race again. Date of review: April 1, 2010

In short: set a new PB, a flat motor racing circuit, theres always got to be potential! In full: A good race slightly marred by the trek around the outside of the track to the start line, muddy trainers and I had only just washed them after the last one! The circuit being on the Cotswold Hills and slightly exposed does tend to suffer a bit with the wind and rain, thankfully no downpour just a bit of mist. Date of review: March 6, 2010

In short: My first ever 10k race and I really enjoyed it. Weather was "chilly" and started to rain as we ran. Had hat just wish I'd taken my gloves!!y Date of review: March 3, 2010

In short: PB heaven, which is good as there's nothing to look at! In full: Excellent PB course with parking, toilets and heated observatory very close by. Not quite sure why the organisers decided to lead us over a very slippy and wet muddy bank to the start line instead of using all the acres of tarmac available, but hey-ho, dirt don't hurt! It was a bit windy on the home stretch but the forcasted heavy rain stayed in the clouds so it was not too cold/hot - ideal for PB'ing -, and provided me with a great starting point to my 2010 season.
Even though the scenery was dull, they also hold this event in August where the centre of the circuit is planted with colourful crops by one of the local farmers, so it's more picturesque - although painful for hay-fever sufferers I imagine! Date of review: March 2, 2010

In short: Great atmosphere and organisation In full: Very classy race, great buzz with the duathlon at the same event. Good cafe - good places to get warm on another cold and wet day. Nice showers if you can find them. Goody bags, tshirt. Loads of prizes.Love it. Date of review: March 1, 2010

In short: Fast course, well organised In full: Overall very well organised - but why ask for a stamp addressed envelope on the application and then not use it? Could do with more lavatories unlocked / more paper in them. I expect I will be be back, generally a good race with friendly efficient people running it. Date of review: March 1, 2010

In short: Good for a PB, but chilly was the right word In full: At least the weather wasn’t as bad as the forecast had suggested it might be. It was decidedly cold- and I didn’t enjoy squelching through the mud up and down a grass bank on the walk to the start- but there are distinct advantages to racing on a circuit. No distractions, no traffic, just you and the person in front.
I wasn’t too worried about the lack of scenery. The thing about 10k is that there isn’t really time to be bored. Doing three circuits was fine- by the second time round I knew where the tough spots would be (the wind in the last part of the lap was hard going, especially as it coincided with the only real incline).
The organisation was faultless, I got a PB, what more can I say?

In short: Reasonably well organised, fast, flat with good PB potential. In full: Despite the wind and rain it was a nice race. Very friendly and a good mix of runners so didn't feel out of place by being a slower, non-club runner! Very boring scenery but I found someone nice to run and chat with so didn't mind too much. Good facilities on site. Date of review: March 1, 2010
