In short: Something different and a little mad.
In full: YouTube video does not do the climb justice. If you like something crazy then this is one for you, if you want to run the whole way then this is not the race for you. That aside well organised in a lovely location.

In short: What an incredible day!
In full: Thanks to Rory and his team. I had a brilliant day in the mud and rain. Extremely tough up the hill, but managed to see the funny side (all 21 times). Very friendly event with runners encouraging each other all the way round (and round, and round...). Huge challenge but fabulous fun!

In short: (Mud + hills) * 10 = Awesome!
In full: Due to the large amount of rain before and during the race it was muddy at every point of the course.. but that just made it more testing, which is the whole point of the race :)

I did the half this year, having done the 10k last time and it was just as much painful fun as I remember. Easier in some ways because it wasn't too warm and obviously harder because of the slippery areas. The roots in the wooded sections are always tricky so you have to concentrate for most of the lap, which in itself can be draining.. but the best part by far was the steep downhill section - aiming to go as fast as possible without wiping out was something to look forward to each lap. And always keeping me going was the thought that I had to finish the challenge! Next time I might try the full marathon...

And of course the events crew were great (despite the inclement weather), thanks for all the support!

In short: This race truely lives up to it's name
In full: Set in the beautiful Wendover woods, this is a truely great race. But only for the brave or the mad. I'm sure beginners would be welcome but they would need to be brave. I've only been running for just over 2 years but I'm mad.

The course was changed for this year and it was a lot harder than last year. I ran, walked the 1/2 I don't think anyone can run up that hill 11 times 20 times if you did the full marathon. It's probibly the steepest hill in the woods and at times my hands were on the ground.

I hadn't trained properly for the race due to injury and it was a stuggle from the word go. If you are thinking of running this race train properly for it. This is without doubt one of the toughest races in the country. And I beleive it is something everyone should run at least once. This was my second time and i'll be back in November to try again.

The race is run over 2km laps up and down hills of verying degrees of differculty from gentle to you must be joking I can't run up there. Even the gentle hills become a challange as the big hill sapps your strenght and your will to carry on.

The organisation is first class for a small race like this. Ambition events really know how to do things. The race organiser Rory Colman was there with his camara taking photos and videos of the runners which can be found on the Ambition events website.

If you think you are tough enougth for the tough challenge then do it you won't regret it. Or at least you won't forget it.

A big thanks to the Ambition events crew for another great race.

In short: Great race!
In full: Next time I think I'll do a bit more hill training! Despite the slightly longer first lap on the 10k, it was a very enjoyable race. The setting was fantastic, the course quite testing and the Ambition Events people were all very friendly and encouraging. Can't wait for the next one!
