In short: Fantastic Race In full: Gales, hailstones, rain, mud, sunshine, stunning scenery, great organisation, fantastic atmosphere – which all went to make this the most fun I have ever had in a pair of shorts!
Well done to the organisers for getting this on despite bad weather earlier on in the day.
In short: Wild, windy but a lot of fun! In full: Well done to the Lakeland Trails Team for coping with wild weather thrown at them again. It was challenging on the hills but all the more rewarding and just as spectacular scenery as ever. I'm getting my entry in for next years series! Date of review: October 5, 2009
In short: WOW Great scenery. Its tough going up fast going down. In full: Great race with wonderful views. The gale force winds added to the challange with the first 4km so hilly you felt you were going backwards. Some down hill sections required alot of confidence with stones, rocks, mud and puddles out there to cause you added problems but once you have finished the sense of achievement was great. In short: Superb race, I love all the Lakeland Trails and I managed them all this year In full: Fantastic views the waterfalls were spectacular this year even getting sprayed at one point due to the gales!!Hope to be back next year a year older but no wiser!! Date of review: October 5, 2009
In short: Beautiful location, real hard going but Fun! In full: Challenging route, the scenery is spectacular. The long climb out from John Ruskin School in Coniston village, was a killer, although the views from the top made it all worthwhile. A real mixture of terrain: road, dirt tracks, fast rocky decents, wet boggy paths, Unfortunately, the high gusty winds put paid to any attempt of achieving fast times. Superb organisation and a nice friendly atmosphere Date of review: October 5, 2009
