In short: One of the best In full: Excellent as always, one of the rare true XC events. Every year has more mud and gets more slippery ! Do this race, I cann't wait to next year to do it again ! Well done Bearbrook ! Date of review: February 24, 2011
In short: It's not called X-Stream for nothing! Waist deep water and lots of mud. In full: Lots of fun once you get used to not feeling your feet after the first stream crossing.
At times I ended up waiting to cross the streams but that's my fault for not running faster to them, and having now seen how it works I understand it's best to give a real dash to the first stream.
One of the most slippery races I've done due to the mud, and at times the aim is just to find a route that works.
I enjoyed the race - parking was difficult but only due to the weather conditions (the field for parking was only accessible to 4 by 4s for good reason) and the marshals were very friendly and helpful. This is definitely a race to try. The race momento is great - something entirely in keeping with the event.
In short: Very Wet, Very Muddy and Very Fun. In full: 1st time runner of this race. The kind of race that makes you smile at the end. Streams up-to your belly button and enough mud to lose your shoes in. Bring on next year im hooked. Date of review: February 20, 2011

In short: Proper XC running! In full: A proper XC with no sections run on tarmac. The route ranged from farm track to plowed fields via a few stream and ditch crossings. The route was really well marked with fantastic marshals. The stream crossings, which were up to the top of my thighs at times, were particularly cold/challenging/fun with loads of encouragement from supporters and marshals. Despite a challenging course, this couldn't be more enjoyable. Date of review: February 22, 2010
