In short: Just entered again for next year - in the nick of time!
In full: Did this race for the first time last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, in a masochistic kind of way! Testing terrain made up for with stunning views. I live here but still never tire of the stunning scenery around Purbeck! Practice going up and down 212 steps, plus and extra 50 odd of very steep one's (at Houns Tout) and it will be a doddle for you! Great marshalls, great atmosphere, great organisisation, great value, great tee-shirt. What can I say? This is a great race!

In short: Fantastic!!
In full: What a brilliant event this was! Great organisation, plenty of water stations and friendly vocal marshalls!
And if you are reading this (or know the guy in question) a massive thumbs up to the legend at the top of the first "Flight" of steps, who got everyone to the top! Nice one matey!
All in all an awesome event and will be back next year for certain!

In short: A run that you have to do
In full: Well I normally only run 10k and thats normally pretty flat but decided I had to do this just for the name. This was my first half marathon and it was well organised and magnificent views. Loads of marshalls encouraging and pointing you in the right direction only criticism was the queues for the 3 portaloos at the start. Would definately do again.

In short: Oh those steps!
In full: First time at a fairly local race to me, magnificent course, catches the best of the purbecks. Those steps were really really tough! but that just makes you feel you have acheived more.
Thanks to the great marshals especially the one on the long steps who came down to check I was ok when I needed a rest.
Will do this again, I now know what to expect!!
Great organisation

In short: Wonderful
In full: My second Beast and it did not disappoint. Awesome scenery, friendly atmosphere, frequent water stations and a special commemorative T-shirt. The route was very well signed and/or marshaled throughout. My special thanks to the guys at the top of each set of steps who were unflagging in their support just when my energy WAS flagging. I also really appreciated the fabulous welcome committee at the finish: I could hear them as I approached the end and it really helped those last few meters.

In short: Stunning off-road rollercoaster of a run.
In full: Great marshalls, free parking, brilliant atmosphere at the finish. Not to mention the course which throws everything at you.
This has to be one of the best XC races around and is worth every black toenail! ;-)

In short: What a beauty - my toughest race yet but all made worthwhile!
In full: This race definitely has it all, the uphill stretches are made even tougher by the fact that a lot of them are on rough stony ground...followed by 'those' steps! Full marks to the marshall at the top of them, I had my head down and hearing that I'd nearly made it to the top made my day!!!! The first glimpse of Corfe on the way back is totally amazing and gives you the boost you need to finish in style! (oh yes style...did I mention all the stiles and how huge they seem from mile 10 - 12!!)
Oh and I didn't see this advertised as an HM...everything I saw said 12-13 miles....

Will deffo be back next year!
