In full: Massive shame about the ice having to shorten the race come the Sunday morning but it couldn't be helped. The scenery was just fantastic and really helped to divert the hilly pain!! Marshals all friendly and enthusiastic, runners even more so, by far the friendliest event i've had the pleasure of being part of. I absolutely feel the need to do the full course so will def be there next time!!

In short: The heartbreak got shorter but was still good
In full: The night before the race an email was sent to say the course had to change due to dangerous icey conditions. Then in the race briefing we were told the race has dropped from 14m to 10.8 (was actually 10.4 by my garmin's reckoning). What a relief - the 14 nearly killed me last year and I was much fitter then! Still a brilliantly organised event with a killer start - a big big hill from the start line that knocks your breath away before 1 mile is done. I made the mistake of starting too far back this time so had a very slow start. Even the modified out-and-back was hills galore on a crisp and pleasant Sunday morning. Friendly bunch or runners and helpful marshalls. Great event base at the campsite (my kids had a swim whilst I ran). Just a shame that this year lots of the toilet/shower blocks were locked up. Would definitely recommend this race.

In short: Fantastic Race, scenery and organisation.
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed this run. Thorough informative briefing. Shortened but only for safety issue, but i dont think it mattered. Beautiful views. Very well organised and friendly marshalls. Lovely medal and heart warming soup & roll, use of pool and showers etc, a superb idea. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a hilly challenge. Well worth the money.

In short: Good off roader, bit bunched at start but otherwise quite tough.
In full: Ice meant the course had to be shortened from 14 miles to 10.3 meaning an out and back. Nothing we could do about that but would have preferred a longer course. Good Marshalls, enough water stations, a few tough hills in a lovely part of the New Forest

In short: Tough course. Well organised & friendly.
In full: Others have said it all. Very clear race brief. Excellent facilities. A good mix of participants & beginners would be welcomed, though they'd need to be prepared for hills!

In short: Harder than what it says on the tin but well worth it when you complete the course!
In full: Thankfully the rain stopped just before the race started, which was nice. The course was 14.3miles which meant a push at the end (this was only my second half-marathon!) but because it was off-road I found it much easier on my feet and ankles as had problems with all the road running on my last one. Extremely well marshalled and the girl on the cattle grid near the start particularly friendly - thanks Gills! Would definitely go to this race again, super friendly organisers and hot showers at the end, soup and bread in a lush setting, what else do you need from a race??!!
