In short: A great challenging run
In full: The hills make this a challenging run through open countryside with great views, slightly spoiled by low cloud on day. As a beginner I felt very welcome as there was a wide range of abilities. Great facilities, atmosphere, marshalling and support.

In short: Great!
In full: Organisation was excellent, good atmosphere. As a local, I was able to laugh at people's reactions to the hills and potholes! Well done Balfron.

In short: I really enjoyed this as the first run of my season. Hills were a struggle but local people were really lovely and friendly.

In short: Fab scenery but not for the faint hearted! Well organised except at the finish line but some people were too efficient to the point of being rude!!

In short: Who want's to go to London anyway?
In full: Quite incredible that this was the events first running. Fantastic turnout by a good mixture of ability and supported well by the locals, all in a good family friendly atmosphere.
Perhaps an estate agent would be proud of 'undulating', but described as 'hilly', I may have chosen to watch London on the tv instead, and I would definately have missed out.
A credit to all involved.

In short: challenging race, friendly atmosphere, very well organised
In full: The race was very well organised, good facilities for changing at the start of the race. Start was relativly well organised, if not a little crushed.
The Race itself is a hilly out and back race, which would test the best of runners, so hill training was a must. Apart from one hill at 3.5km the hills are mostly gently BUT long, particularly from 6.5km to 9km constant climb.
If you can recoup some speed on the down hills, it is possible to do a personal best, but do expect an extra 2-3 mins on your standard time depending on experience.
Would definately reccomend, well done to the organisers on their first 10k

In short: Undulating my ****! A course with more up than down!! Beautiful though and I think we gave the cows a laugh.
In full: I was told this course was undulating. In my opinion it was bloody hilly. Is it possible on an out and back to have more ups than down? Beautiful scenery, despite the poor weather. Great organisation for a fist time event, though the man at beginning needed a loud speaker thing that we could actually hear. Cakes at end were brilliant as were the outspan oranges. Children from Primary school were unbelievable marshalls. Well done Balfron.

In short: Good well-organised race, quite challenging with a lot of uphill near the end.
In full: Well done to the organisers - impressive for a new race. The twisty bits at the beginning and end were not a good idea, but this could be easily fixed. Agree with others that everything else went very smoothly. Even organised a herd of cows in an adjoining field tried to run along with us at one point!

In short: the dreaded 8k hill - just when you thought the pain was easing...
In full: Excellent race - for a first Balfron Race this was extremely well oragnised! Great value for money ( a very nice t shirt indeed - one i would actually wear!) and lots of help and sponsorship from the locals! Outspan Oranges were amazing and just what was needed after a very undulating course! Didn't really notice all the "small" downhills on the way out only the big hill upwards towards the farm...on the way back in however it was a slightly different view! great race will be back next year - one flaw was the ahnd counted results which took a while a computer next year may help!!! Well done!
